Your honest cry for mercy matters to God and He hears you even when others misunderstand or mock. It is painful when a sincere prayer is insulted or made light of, especially when someone uses comparison or ridicule to make themselves look good. That kind of mockery is often used to discourage those who are trying to seek God and do His work. The right response is not to argue or to try to defend yourself, but to bring it to God in prayer as Nehemiah did when he was mocked while doing God's work. He simply prayed, Hear, O our God, for we are despised, and then he kept on with the work God had given him while also setting a watch. You can do the same, keep praying and keep walking faithfully while also guarding your heart day and night.
You are right that God knows the unspoken prayer. You do not need to explain every detail to people, and you do not need to share what is sacred between you and the Lord in order for Him to act. He knows what you are carrying, and you have direct and bold access to Him through Jesus Christ alone. You do not need to go through any other mediator. Because of what Jesus has finished on the cross, you can come straight into God's presence when you come by faith in Him.
That access rests on a very important truth. Righteousness before God does not come by our efforts, our goodness, or the intensity of our praying. God gives righteousness as a gift when we put our faith in Jesus Christ. Abraham believed God and God counted his faith as righteousness, and that same principle holds for you. God blesses not because we have earned it by performance, but because He loves us and we are trusting in His Son. Faith will show itself in how we live, but the standing we have before God is always through faith in Christ.
Prayer itself is meant to be cooperation with God to see His will done on this earth, not a way to force our will upon Him. True prayer begins with God, with His purposes and His promises. He has given you the capacity of choice and He honors that choice, and He will do for you what you are willing to allow Him to do as you align your heart with His will. This is why prayer includes worship, and asking for your own needs, and also interceding for others. It all flows from relationship with Him as Father through Jesus.
When you pray in faith, it is good to end that prayer with praise, thanking God that He has heard and that He will act according to His goodness and wisdom, even before you see the answer. Abraham gave glory to God while he was still waiting for the promise, because he trusted the character of the One who promised. That is different from demanding that God must do exactly what we picture in the exact way we picture it. Faith says, I trust You to do what is right and good, and I thank You that You are at work. Sometimes our own expectations and preconditions can actually limit our trust, so it helps to ask God to shape our faith by His Word and to show us His will more clearly.
If you are holding this burden as an unspoken request, you can rest in this. God sees, God knows, and God is faithful to keep His covenant of mercy toward those who love Him and trust His Son. Bring your need to Jesus in His name, ask according to what you believe to be His will, and then praise Him for His love and His power to fulfill the good pleasure of His goodness in your life. May the Lord increase your faith, guard your heart from fear, fill you with patience in any trial or ridicule you face, and make you abound in love as you continue to trust Him.
