Please. I Need Your Prayers.

Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly and asking for prayer. I am praying for you and will continue to keep you in prayer daily. Be assured that God hears when you cry out to Him. He has not hidden His face from those who call on Him, and He hears that simple, urgent prayer for safety.

What you are feeling is real, and fear is one of the most common tools used to trouble God's children. Fear grows when our eyes are fixed on the threat and when we lose the sense that God is near. The answer to fear is always the presence of God. He is always with His people, but we are not always conscious of it, and remembering that He is with you is what quiets fear. As David said, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. When you become conscious again that the Lord Himself is with you, there is nothing you need to fear.

Scripture says the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge and wisdom. That word for beginning means the head, the sum total, the starting place that holds everything together. It is not a phobia that paralyzes you. It is reverent awe before the greatness and power and majesty of God, a heart that wants to love what He loves and hate what He hates. To fear the Lord is to hate evil and to depart from it. That reverence is the foundation for a clear mind and a steady life, and God promises that when we walk in that reverence and turn from evil, He is our confidence and keeps our steps secure.

Fear and faith cannot rule the heart at the same time. Where fear is allowed to take over, faith departs, and where faith and confidence in God are strong, fear must leave. That is why remembering the Lord is the cure for fear. Do not let fear push you into hasty or unwise reactions. Instead, do what is wise and prudent, but not from fear. Simply remember who God is, that greater is He who is with you than any enemy against you, and that He has said, Fear not, for I am with you.

There is a place of safety, and that place is abiding in Christ. The help of man and the arm of flesh are not enough to keep us, but Jesus Himself is our protection. When you abide in Him, though the enemy may come against you, Christ is your defense. You do not have to strive to find safety somewhere else. Stay close to Him, walk with Him, trust Him day by day.

I am praying for you now. Father, I lift this dear one to You who has cried out for safety. Let this one know in a deep way that You are present right now. Quiet fear with the assurance of Your nearness. Give faith to trust You, a heart to reverence You and to turn from evil, and the peace that comes from abiding in Christ. Keep this one in Your care, guard body and soul, and let Your presence be the confidence that keeps fear away. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
