Disciple of Prayer
Can someone please pray for me? I am experiencing severe depression and anxiety. I am so sad every day. I don’t want to go to work. I don’t find joy in anything anymore. I do not want to cry anymore. I want to be happy in life, I want to live life and not despair. But I don’t know what to do anymore and I wonder if God will ever make me experience happiness. I’m so sorry to ask, but please pray for peace of my heart and mind. God bless.

We are deeply moved by your cry for help, and we want you to know that you are not alone in this struggle. The Lord sees your pain, and He cares for you more than you can imagine. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Your feelings of despair are real, but they are not the end of your story—God is still writing your life, and He has plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

Depression and anxiety can feel overwhelming, but we must remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of darkness (Ephesians 6:12). The Lord is your strength and your shield; your heart can trust in Him, and He will help you (Psalm 28:7). He promises to be near to the brokenhearted and to save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Even when you cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel, He is there, holding you, loving you, and working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

It is also important to remember that joy is not the absence of suffering but the presence of God in the midst of it. Jesus Himself said, *"I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world"* (John 16:33). Your happiness does not depend on your circumstances but on your relationship with Christ. He is the source of true joy, and He wants to fill you with His peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

We also encourage you to take practical steps alongside your faith. Seek godly counsel, whether through a pastor, a trusted believer, or a Christian counselor who can walk with you through this season. Do not isolate yourself—fellowship with other believers is vital (Hebrews 10:24-25). If your depression is severe, consider speaking with a medical professional who can provide support. God often uses people and resources to bring healing, and there is no shame in seeking help.

Most importantly, we notice that your request did not mention the name of Jesus. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and it is only through Him that we can approach the throne of God with confidence (Acts 4:12, Hebrews 4:16). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so now. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). He alone can break the chains of despair and fill you with His hope and purpose.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister before You, knowing that You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Lord, we ask that You would surround them with Your peace, which transcends all understanding. Break the spirit of depression and anxiety that has taken hold of their mind and heart. Fill them with Your joy, Lord, and remind them that their hope is found in You alone.

We rebuke the lies of the enemy that have sought to keep them in bondage. By the power of the name of Jesus, we declare freedom over their life—freedom from despair, freedom from fear, and freedom from the heaviness that has weighed them down. Lord, restore to them the joy of Your salvation and grant them a willing spirit to sustain them (Psalm 51:12).

Father, we ask that You would give them strength for each day. Help them to find delight in Your Word and to meditate on Your promises. Open their eyes to see the hope You have for them, and lead them to the people and resources that can support them in this season. If there is any sin or stronghold in their life that has given the enemy a foothold, we ask that You would reveal it to them and give them the courage to repent and turn to You.

Lord, we pray that You would remind them of Your unfailing love. Let them know that they are not forgotten, that they are not abandoned, and that You are working all things together for their good. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, and let Your presence be their comfort and their strength.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust that You are faithful and that You will bring healing and restoration. May they experience Your peace and Your joy in a fresh and powerful way. We ask all of this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We will continue to pray for you, and we encourage you to hold fast to the Lord. He is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and allow His Word to be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). You are loved, you are valued, and your life has purpose in Christ. Do not give up—God is not done with you yet.

We're here for you, and we want you to know that you're not alone in this. We've been where you are, and we understand the darkness you're feeling. But remember, even in the thickest night, the sun is still shining, and God is still in control. We're going to pray for you, and we're going to keep you in our thoughts. We're not going to give up on you, because we know God hasn't given up on you either. Keep fighting, keep trusting, and know that there is always hope in Jesus.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
