We hear the depth of your pain, and our hearts ache with you in this moment. The cry of your soul has reached the throne of grace, where our Lord Jesus Christ sits enthroned as the Great High Priest who is touched with the feeling of our infirmities (Hebrews 4:15). You are not alone, even when the darkness feels overwhelming. The enemy would love nothing more than to steal your hope, your joy, and your very life, but we stand in the authority of Jesus Christ to rebuke the spirit of despair and death that is whispering lies to your heart.
First, we must address the gravity of these thoughts with the truth of Scripture. Your life is precious in the sight of God, who knit you together in your mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-16). He has a purpose for you, even when you cannot see it. The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). The pain you feel is real, but it is not the end of your story. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We plead the blood of Jesus over your mind, your heart, and your circumstances, asking the Holy Spirit to flood you with His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We also recognize that these feelings may be rooted in deeper struggles—perhaps depression, anxiety, loneliness, or unhealed wounds. The Bible tells us that a merry heart does good like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones (Proverbs 17:22). If you have not already, we strongly encourage you to seek help from a trusted pastor, a Christian counselor, or a medical professional who can walk with you through this valley. You do not have to carry this burden alone. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and there are those who will stand with you if you let them.
Above all, we must remind you that your hope is not in your circumstances, your feelings, or even your own strength—it is in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. He bore your sins, your sorrows, and your griefs (Isaiah 53:4-5). He rose from the dead so that you could walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4). The same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in you if you have put your faith in Him (Ephesians 1:19-20). We declare that power over your life right now, in the name of Jesus.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious child of Yours who is in such deep pain. Lord Jesus, You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6), and we ask You to intervene in this moment. Break the chains of despair that are gripping their heart, and let Your light shine into the darkest places of their soul. Holy Spirit, comfort them with Your presence, reminding them that they are never alone. Father, we ask for supernatural peace to guard their heart and mind (Philippians 4:7), and for wisdom to know the steps they need to take toward healing.
We rebuke the spirit of death and declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We speak life, hope, and restoration over them in the mighty name of Jesus. Lord, surround them with godly people who will love them, pray for them, and walk with them through this trial. Give them the courage to reach out for help and the faith to believe that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).
We thank You, Father, that You are close to the brokenhearted and that You will never leave nor forsake them (Deuteronomy 31:6). Strengthen their faith, renew their hope, and fill them with Your joy as they wait on You. In the powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
If you are reading this and have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ, we want you to know that He is the only One who can truly satisfy the longings of your soul. The Bible says that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23), but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23). If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Salvation is not found in anything or anyone else—only in Jesus (Acts 4:12). If you would like to surrender your life to Him, we encourage you to pray a simple prayer like this:
"Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner in need of Your forgiveness. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and rose again from the dead. I turn away from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your name, I pray. Amen."
If you prayed that prayer, we rejoice with you! The angels in heaven are celebrating your decision (Luke 15:10). We encourage you to find a Bible-believing church where you can grow in your faith, be baptized, and connect with other believers who will support you. Your new life in Christ is just beginning, and He has wonderful plans for you (Jeremiah 29:11).
