Disciple of Prayer
Dear Lord, please help my mother and help us to move in together; let me become her legal guardian instead of this corrupt administrator who is neglecting her health and bills. Lord, grant that I win custody of my mother through the courts, and let this evil administrator who is causing such chaos receive punishment for the harm she is inflicting on my mother and me. Please do this quickly, wickedness. Make me my mother’s guardian so I can care for her and bring her home in Jesus name amen.

We join with you in bringing your mother before the Lord and we hear the deep love and burden you carry for her. Your desire to honor her, to care for her health, to bring her home and to protect her from neglect is beautiful and pleases God. He calls us to honor our parents and to defend those who are vulnerable. As it is written, Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you. Exodus 20:12 and Defend the weak, the poor, and the fatherless. Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Psalm 82:3. We also take comfort that A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. Psalm 68:5. He sees what is happening with your mother, He sees every unpaid bill and every health need that has been neglected, and He is a God of justice.

We also want to gently speak to the part of your prayer that asks that this administrator receive punishment and that wickedness be dealt with quickly by your hand. We understand your righteous anger when you see your mother harmed and chaos caused, and God shares that anger against injustice, for it is written It is joy to the righteous to do justice; but it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity. Proverbs 21:15. Yet Scripture also teaches us to release vengeance to the Lord and to desire justice rather than personal revenge. Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:19. We are called to pray not only for justice but also for repentance, that those who do wrong would be confronted, held accountable by the proper authorities, and brought to turn from their ways. The courts and governing authorities are ordained by God to carry out justice, as it is written Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Romans 13:1. So we pray for the courts to see clearly, for truth to be revealed, and for the administrator to be held accountable according to the law, while we leave the final judgment to God and pray that she would repent.

We encourage you to continue to walk in wisdom and peace as you pursue legal guardianship. We pray that God will grant you wisdom as you navigate this process, for if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him. James 1:5. Keep careful records of the neglect you have observed, seek godly and competent legal counsel, and continue to show honor and steadiness in all your dealings before the court. We know you desire this to happen quickly, and God understands your urgency, but we encourage you to commit your way to Him and trust His timing, for Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this. He will make your righteousness shine out like light, and your justice as the noon day sun. Psalm 37:5-6. Do not let anxiety consume you, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7.

We thank you for praying in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him we have access to the Father.

We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear mother to You. You know her frailty, her health needs, and her loneliness. We ask You to protect her body and mind, to provide for her bills and daily care, and to surround her with Your presence where she is now. Lord, we ask for Your favor and truth to prevail in the courts. Grant wisdom and discernment to every judge, attorney, and official involved, expose any neglect or corruption, and let justice be done according to Your righteousness. If it is Your will, open the door for this child to become the legal guardian and to bring her mother home to care for her in love and dignity. Give them provision for a home together, strength for caregiving, and grace for each day. We also lift up the administrator to You. Lord, hold her accountable for what she has done, stop any further harm, and bring her to repentance and truth. We release vengeance to You and ask for Your perfect justice and mercy to be displayed. Fill this family with Your peace that surpasses understanding as they wait on You. We trust You to act and we thank You that You hear our prayers. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We hear how deeply you love your mother and how painful it has been to watch from a distance while worrying about her health and bills. Wanting to bring her home and care for her yourself is a tender and understandable desire, and we are holding both of you before the Lord with you.

These guardianship matters can be long and heavy, and it helps not to carry them alone. If you have not already, a steady next step is to sit down with a qualified attorney who works in guardianship or elder law in your area. They can look at what you are seeing with her care and finances, help you keep clear, dated notes and records, and walk you through what the court will need to see. It also helps to stay connected to trusted support around you, whether family, your church, or a small community who can encourage you and help you keep perspective while the legal process moves forward.

We are praying for wisdom for you and for everyone involved in making decisions about your mother's care.

Father, we lift this mother and her child to You. Please watch over her health and daily needs, provide for what is lacking, and give wisdom and clarity to those who have responsibility for her. Give this loved one peace, guidance for each next step, and strength to trust You with the timing and outcome. Lead toward what is truly good and just for his mother, and bring comfort to their home. In Jesus' name, amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

Your burden for your mother has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the throne of grace. It is a holy and honourable desire to care for a mother in her need, for the Lord Himself has commanded that we honour father and mother, and our Saviour rebuked those who would say Corban and thereby neglect that duty. To seek to provide a home and faithful care for her, to see her health and her daily affairs tended with diligence and love, is a work that God approves.

We will pray that the Lord in His mercy will watch over your mother, preserve her health, provide for her needs, and surround her with protection where she is now. We will pray also that He will give wisdom and integrity to those who sit in judgment, that every lawful means may be weighed with impartiality and truth, and that if it be His will, the way may be opened for you to care for her in your home as her guardian. We ask the Lord to grant you patience, uprightness, and a quiet spirit through this process, that all you do may be done honestly and in the fear of God.

Concerning the administrator of whom you speak, we must commend justice to Him who judges righteously. The Scriptures teach us that God is slow to anger. The lictor of divine justice carries his axe bound up in a bundle of rods, for He will not cut off men until He has reproved them that they may repent. Yet the same Word declares that He will not at all acquit the wicked. His justice demands that wrong be addressed, and it will not be overlooked. Vengeance belongs to the Lord, not to us. It is not for us to ask God to hasten punishment according to our own anger, but to ask that He will do what is just and right in His perfect time, that He will restrain all neglect and wrongdoing, bring hidden things to light, and cause those in authority to act faithfully for your mother's good.

If that person has done wrong, we pray that God would bring conviction, that there may be repentance and a turning to do what is right, and that lawful accountability may be exercised by the proper authorities. If you have been wronged, we pray that the Lord would keep your heart from bitterness, and teach you to leave room for His justice while you walk in love and truth. No convinced sinner rails against God's justice, but rather bows before it, and every one of us must look to that great sight where justice and mercy embraced at the cross. There Justice fell not upon us but upon the Saviour's heart, where it spent its fury, so that God can be just and yet the justifier of him who believes in Jesus. It is only through that atoning blood that any of us can stand before a holy God and find pardon.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, merciful and just, Thou art slow to anger and great in power, and Thou wilt not at all acquit the wicked. We bring before Thee this dear mother in her frailty and need. Lay Thy hand upon her for good, guard her body and mind, and let no neglect continue against her. Provide for her bills and her daily care, and raise up faithful hands to serve her. Grant wisdom to judges and to all who have authority in this matter, that truth may be known and right may be done according to law. If it be Thy will, open the door for her child to become her guardian and to bring her home and care for her with tenderness and honour. Keep this petitioner from hasty wrath and give grace to trust Thy justice and Thy timing. Where wrong has been done, bring it to light and cause it to be corrected in righteousness, and grant repentance where repentance is needed. Above all, draw both mother and child to trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, in whom alone is salvation, whose death manifested Thy justice in the highest degree and whose mercy still flows to sinners who repent and believe. Hear us for His sake who bore our sins in His own body on the tree. Amen.

May the Lord help her mother, remove the corrupt administrator, and grant her legal guardianship quickly. May He bring her mother home to safety and care.
