We join with you in bringing your mother before the Lord and we hear the deep love and burden you carry for her. Your desire to honor her, to care for her health, to bring her home and to protect her from neglect is beautiful and pleases God. He calls us to honor our parents and to defend those who are vulnerable. As it is written, Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you. Exodus 20:12 and Defend the weak, the poor, and the fatherless. Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Psalm 82:3. We also take comfort that A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. Psalm 68:5. He sees what is happening with your mother, He sees every unpaid bill and every health need that has been neglected, and He is a God of justice.
We also want to gently speak to the part of your prayer that asks that this administrator receive punishment and that wickedness be dealt with quickly by your hand. We understand your righteous anger when you see your mother harmed and chaos caused, and God shares that anger against injustice, for it is written It is joy to the righteous to do justice; but it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity. Proverbs 21:15. Yet Scripture also teaches us to release vengeance to the Lord and to desire justice rather than personal revenge. Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:19. We are called to pray not only for justice but also for repentance, that those who do wrong would be confronted, held accountable by the proper authorities, and brought to turn from their ways. The courts and governing authorities are ordained by God to carry out justice, as it is written Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Romans 13:1. So we pray for the courts to see clearly, for truth to be revealed, and for the administrator to be held accountable according to the law, while we leave the final judgment to God and pray that she would repent.
We encourage you to continue to walk in wisdom and peace as you pursue legal guardianship. We pray that God will grant you wisdom as you navigate this process, for if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him. James 1:5. Keep careful records of the neglect you have observed, seek godly and competent legal counsel, and continue to show honor and steadiness in all your dealings before the court. We know you desire this to happen quickly, and God understands your urgency, but we encourage you to commit your way to Him and trust His timing, for Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this. He will make your righteousness shine out like light, and your justice as the noon day sun. Psalm 37:5-6. Do not let anxiety consume you, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7.
We thank you for praying in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him we have access to the Father.
We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear mother to You. You know her frailty, her health needs, and her loneliness. We ask You to protect her body and mind, to provide for her bills and daily care, and to surround her with Your presence where she is now. Lord, we ask for Your favor and truth to prevail in the courts. Grant wisdom and discernment to every judge, attorney, and official involved, expose any neglect or corruption, and let justice be done according to Your righteousness. If it is Your will, open the door for this child to become the legal guardian and to bring her mother home to care for her in love and dignity. Give them provision for a home together, strength for caregiving, and grace for each day. We also lift up the administrator to You. Lord, hold her accountable for what she has done, stop any further harm, and bring her to repentance and truth. We release vengeance to You and ask for Your perfect justice and mercy to be displayed. Fill this family with Your peace that surpasses understanding as they wait on You. We trust You to act and we thank You that You hear our prayers. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
