We hear the ache in your heart over your lost bird and we join you in bringing this before the Lord together. We know how precious the animals entrusted to our care are, and how heavy it feels when one is lost, especially when you are also carrying regret over missed opportunities to show kindness and patience.
We take comfort that our Father sees and cares for every creature He has made. Jesus said, Are not two sparrows sold for an assarion? Not one of them falls on the ground apart from your Father. Matthew 10:29. And again, Are not five sparrows sold for two assaria? Not one of them is forgotten by God. Luke 12:6. He knows where your little bird is, and He knows the love you have for it. Scripture also reminds us of our responsibility and privilege to care for them, for A righteous man respects the life of his animal Proverbs 12:10. Your desire for one more chance to be kind and patient is pleasing to God, because that desire itself reflects His work in your heart.
We also hear your sorrow over the chances you feel you have missed with people and animals you love. We all fall short in this way, and we want to encourage you that God's mercy does not run out. It is because of Yahweh's loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn't fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9. The Lord is good, and ready to forgive, abundant in loving kindness to all those who call on you. Psalm 86:5. He does not give us just one more chance, He gives us new mercies each day to grow in the fruit of the Spirit which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Galatians 5:22-23. We pray that even in this painful waiting, He will help you walk in greater patience and kindness going forward, relying on His strength and not your own.
We noticed your prayer was addressed to God, and we want to gently share why we always pray in the name of Jesus. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. And scripture teaches There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is only through faith in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we have access to God and assurance that He hears us. If you have not yet put your trust in Him, we encourage you to call upon Jesus today, believing He is Lord and Savior, and He will forgive you and bring you into His family.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up this beloved bird to You and ask that in Your mercy You would keep it safe from harm, guide it, and if it is Your will, return it safely home. You see every sparrow, You know its needs, and we ask You to watch over this small life. We also lift up our friend who is grieving and feeling regret. Lord, pour out Your comfort and peace that surpasses all understanding. Forgive where there has been impatience or unkindness, and wash them clean by the blood of Jesus. Renew their heart and fill them with Your Spirit so that patience and kindness would overflow to family, friends, and all Your creatures. Help them to trust Your goodness whether the answer is to bring the bird back or to give strength to bear the loss. Show them Your loving kindness is new every morning and that Your will is perfect and good. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to keep seeking the Lord while you also diligently search, let neighbors know, and do what you can, trusting the outcome to Him. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6. He hears you, He loves you, and He is working even now to make you more like Christ in patience and love.
