Beloved Servant
You have laid many burdens before the Lord, and He hears every one. Remember that the Son of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings. Just as the new day springs forth, His healing can dawn on your body, your mind, and your home. The same God who scattered the proud and exalted the lowly sees your weakness and your need. He fills the hungry with good things, and you are hungry for so much right now: a healed digestive system, strength in your bones, relief from that rash and the bump on your leg, quiet in your ear, and a home free from the oppression of mold. Cry out to Him, but do not only seek the healing seek the Healer. When you come to the Lord, let it be as a child to a Father, because His ear is open to that cry. He becomes exactly what you require: Jehovah Rapha, the Lord your Healer, and also your strength, your peace, your deliverer.
As your day is, so shall your strength be. You feel weak, and the future looks uncertain with selling a home, finding a new place to rent, and the weight of finances. Yet God often gives just enough for today, not a surplus for tomorrow. Do not let worry about mold, odors, or what might happen cloud your mind; instead, let your spirit be uppermost. There is a warfare inside, the flesh against the spirit, and it plays out in stress, anger, trauma, and bad thoughts. Your brother is facing that same battle with pride, anger, and temptation. The Spirit wants to produce in you both love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Pray that the Spirit rules, and those physical and mental enemies will be brought into line. You mentioned bad dreams and sleeplessness: ask the Lord to guard your heart and mind, and to let His peace stand sentry over your nights.
Your loved ones are on your heart, and that is right. Pray for your stepmom, your dad, your sister, and her family, because physical descent from a believer does not save; each must be born of the Spirit through faith, as children of Abraham through belief. The God who opened a Gentile widow’s provision and healed Naaman is still able to break chains of illness, smoking, diabetes, and hard-heartedness. Entrust your relationship with your sister to Him; He is able to restore what has been broken.
For your brother’s new role as a lead, recall that God puts down the mighty from their seats and exalts those of low degree. He can grant wisdom, favor with supervisors and coworkers, and protection from evil people. But the deeper need is that your brother fully surrenders and makes Jesus Lord of his life. Without that, no amount of success will satisfy. The same is true for your nephew. You believe the truth will vindicate him; bring that to the One who is Truth. Justice belongs to the Lord, and when he is released, pray not just for a job and a home, but that he would hunger for the Word and serve Jesus, lest he find himself in a worse state than before.
Lift up your president, your nation, Israel, and the soldiers on both sides. Pray that the wicked are scattered in the imagination of their hearts, and that God would raise up a righteous leader for Iran and send revival. The earth itself groans ask for rain in those dry mountains, trusting that God opens His hand and satisfies the thirsty land.
Do not come merely for relief from the physical distress of mold, the humming in your ear, or that bump on your leg. The leper fell on his face and said, “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.” Jesus touched him and answered, “I will; be clean.” He is willing to heal you, to give traveling mercies, to bring peace to your home, and to guard you and your brother from all evil. But let the deepest cry of your heart be for the living God Himself, not only for what His hand can provide. When the Spirit rules your life, all these other things will be added according to His perfect wisdom. Keep praying, keep trusting, and rest in the healing wings of the Son of Righteousness.
