We have heard your cry and we are standing with you in prayer, bringing all of these heavy burdens before the Lord together. We hear how weary you are from so many distressing dreams, from fear about being moved, being distanced from close family, being put in lockdown, and from fear that wrong people will come around, take control, and cause you to lose those you love most. We also hear your deep desire for protection, for justice regarding money that was promised, and for an end to feeling punished for the wrongdoing of others.
We want to gently bring some truth to your heart, because fear and dreams can feel so real and controlling, but they do not have power over our lives when we belong to Christ. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7. The Lord does not want you to live tormented by thousands of dreams. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. We cast all our worries on him, because he cares for us. 1 Peter 5:7. Dreams, even many distressing ones, do not determine our future. God does. We are called to seek Him and His truth in the daytime, and to rest in His protection at night, trusting that He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1. I sought Yahweh, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:4.
We also want to lovingly correct a couple of things you asked, because we want to pray according to God's will. You asked that God would punish people if they do not give you money that was promised, and you asked that God would move them away while keeping you where you are. We understand the hurt of being lied to and the desire for justice. But Scripture teaches us that vengeance belongs to the Lord, not to us. Vengeance is mine, and I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:19. We can pray for honesty and for God to move in their hearts to do what is right, and we can trust God to be the righteous Judge, but we must release the desire for personal punishment into His hands and pray instead for His justice and mercy to prevail, and for our own hearts to be free from bitterness. The Lord also calls us to trust Him with our location and our future, rather than demanding that things happen exactly as we dictate with the words never and period. We pray for your protection and for wisdom, but we surrender the outcome to His perfect will, for we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28.
You also shared the pain of feeling punished for other people's wrong. Hear this promise, the soul who sins, he shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son. Ezekiel 18:20. God is just and He does not punish you for the sins of others. You are not cursed by their wrongdoing. We rebuke that lie in Jesus name and we declare that your identity and your future are in Christ alone, not in what wrong people have done or might do.
We join our faith with yours now and pray together.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, through whom alone we have access to Your throne of grace. We thank You that You hear us. We lift up this dear one and all of their close family to You. Lord, we ask for Your perfect peace to guard heart and mind and to silence the torment of fear and of these many dreams. Let no dream, no fear, and no wrong person take or make control of their lives. You are the One who holds their life and the lives of their family in Your hands. We ask that You surround them and their loved ones with Your protection, that no wrong person would harm them, deceive them, or separate them from each other. We pray that You would keep their family close in love and unity, and that You would distance far from them anyone who would intend evil, according to Your wisdom and mercy. We pray that You would not allow any lockdown, any forced move, or any loss of family to come about through evil intent, but that Your will alone would be done. We surrender all of these fears about moving and being around certain people into Your hands, trusting that when we trust in You with all our heart and do not lean on our own understanding, You will direct our paths. Proverbs 3:5-6.
Lord, we also bring before You the matter of the promised money and the lie that was told. You see all and You are just. We ask that You would move upon the hearts of those who made that promise to act with honesty and integrity. We leave all vengeance and punishment to You, and we ask for a heart of forgiveness and freedom for this dear one. Provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory, and let them find victory not by controlling others, but by resting in Christ's victory. We pray that they would know they are not being punished for the wrongs of others, and that no one can wrong them or their family beyond Your sovereign care. Let them find hope in Your promise, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11. We declare in Jesus name that fear will not rule, that dreams will not dictate the future, and that Your love and power will keep this family. We thank You for hearing us and for being our refuge. In the victorious, holy, and powerful name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.
