We lift up your mother with heavy hearts, standing in the gap for her healing and, most importantly, for her soul. The fear you carry for her eternal life is not something to be taken lightly, and we share in your urgency. The Word of God tells us in Ezekiel 18:23, "Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked? says the Lord Yahweh; and not rather that he should return from his way, and live?" God does not delight in the death of anyone, but desires repentance and life. This is why we pray with fervency, not just for her physical healing, but for the healing of her heart.
First, we must address the matter of unforgiveness in her life. Unforgiveness is a heavy burden that can hinder one’s relationship with God and even affect physical health. Jesus warns us in Matthew 6:14-15, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." This is not to condemn your mother, but to highlight the urgency of the situation. We pray that the Holy Spirit would soften her heart, bring conviction, and lead her to release any bitterness, resentment, or unforgiveness she may be holding onto. May she experience the freedom that comes from forgiving others as Christ has forgiven her.
We also pray for her physical healing. The tumor in her intestine is a heavy burden, but we serve a God who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we can ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We declare healing over her body in the name of Jesus, who bore our sicknesses and carried our diseases (Isaiah 53:5). We ask that the Lord would guide the hands of her doctors, give them wisdom, and provide a miracle if it is His will. Whether through medical intervention or divine intervention, we trust that God is able to restore her health.
But above all, we pray for her salvation. If she has not placed her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, we plead with the Holy Spirit to draw her to Himself. Romans 10:9 says, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." We pray that she would confess her sins, turn to Jesus in faith, and receive the gift of eternal life. If she is already a believer, we pray that she would be strengthened in her faith and that any unconfessed sin would be brought to light so she can repent and walk in freedom.
We rebuke the spirit of fear that may be gripping your heart. 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We pray that you would be filled with peace, knowing that God is in control. Even in this difficult time, He is working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). We encourage you to continue speaking life over your mother, reminding her of God’s love and the hope we have in Christ. Share the gospel with her if she is open, and trust that the Holy Spirit will do the work of conviction and drawing.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious mother to You. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch to be upon her body. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, she is healed, and we ask that You would remove this tumor from her intestine. Give her doctors wisdom and skill, and let Your healing power flow through her.
Father, we also pray for her soul. We ask that You would break any hardness in her heart and lead her to repentance. If there is unforgiveness in her life, soften her heart to release it, and let her experience Your forgiveness and peace. If she does not know You as her Savior, we plead with You to draw her to Yourself. Let her confess Jesus as Lord and believe in her heart that You raised Him from the dead. Save her, Lord, and let her walk in the freedom and joy of Your salvation.
We rebuke the spirit of fear and despair in this situation. Fill this family with Your peace, knowing that You are in control. Strengthen their faith and let them trust in Your promises. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved. Amen.
