First, we must address the foundation of your request—you rightly invoke the name of Jesus, and we stand with you in that truth. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is by His blood that we are redeemed. If you have not already, we encourage you to examine your heart and ensure your relationship with Christ is secure, for salvation comes only through faith in Him (Acts 4:12, John 14:6).
Now, regarding your marriage and divorce, Scripture is clear that God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16), for marriage is a sacred covenant designed to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). While we do not know the circumstances that led to this point, we must ask: Have you sought reconciliation, counseling, or godly mediation before pursuing divorce? If there is any possibility of restoration, we urge you to pursue it with humility and prayer, for God is able to heal what is broken (Joel 2:25).
If, however, the marriage has been irreparably damaged due to unrepentant sin—such as adultery, abandonment, or abuse—Scripture does provide grounds for divorce (Matthew 19:9, 1 Corinthians 7:15). Lord, we also pray for their ex. If there is hardness of heart, we ask that You would soften it. If there is unrepentance, we ask that You would bring conviction. May Your will be done in both of their lives, and may Your name be glorified even in this difficult circumstance.
