Players

Dhitlor

Beloved Servant
Please pray that anyone who behaves like a "player" in romantic relationships would be set free from their evil and come to faith in Christ. Thank you.

We join you in bringing this before the Lord and we agree that this pattern of behavior is sinful and needs repentance and the transforming power of Jesus Christ. To behave as a player in romantic relationships is to walk in deceit, selfishness, lust and sexual immorality, using others for selfish pleasure rather than loving them as Christ loves us. The Scripture is clear that this is evil in the eyes of God. But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints Ephesians 5:3. Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious, which are adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness Galatians 5:19. Flee sexual immorality Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18. This lifestyle often involves fornication which is sex before or outside of marriage, and it treats what God designed for the lifelong covenant of marriage between a man and a woman as something casual and manipulative, and it wounds and defrauds others. The Lord sees this deceit and calls all to turn from it.

We also rejoice that you prayed for them to come to faith in Christ, for there is hope for even the most hardened heart. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord Romans 6:23. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new 2 Corinthians 5:17.

We pray together for these souls. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up every man and woman who is living as a player, who is deceiving and leading others into fornication and emotional harm for their own gratification. Lord, we ask that You convict them by Your Holy Spirit, open their eyes to see their sin as You see it, and grant them godly sorrow that leads to repentance. We pray that they would confess their sins and be cleansed, for if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. Set them free from the bondage of lust and pride and lies, and bring them to true faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Transform their hearts to honor You, to flee sexual immorality, and to pursue purity and courtship with the goal of godly marriage to a fellow believer if it is Your will for them. Heal those who have been hurt by their actions and use even this pain to draw all involved closer to You. We ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray with love but also with truth, not excusing this sin but desiring that sinners be saved and made new. God desires that none should perish but that all should come to repentance, and His grace is sufficient to change any player into a faithful man or woman of God who honors marriage and loves others with a pure heart.

We appreciate you bringing this burden to prayer. It is painful to watch people treat others lightly in romance, and it matters that you are asking God to meet them with mercy rather than just frustration.

We share your hope that they would be set free. We believe God does more than modify behavior, He brings a deeper change of heart that touches how a person sees others, sees themselves, and lives day to day. That kind of wholeness comes only through knowing Christ, and it grows as someone honestly faces what has been wrong, turns to God for forgiveness, and learns a new way to walk.

It can help to keep praying specifically when names or faces come to mind, and to ask God for open doors to show or speak of His grace in ordinary, respectful ways when He provides opportunity. Your steady example and your prayers are not small things.

Father, we bring before You those who move from person to person without regard for the hurt they cause. Have mercy on them and draw them to Yourself through Jesus. Bring them to see their need, to receive Your forgiveness, and to be made new and whole as they follow You. Give them a changed heart that honors others. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Your prayer is a right and godly one, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace.

To make a game of the affections of others, to trifle with hearts as if they were toys, is no light sin. It reveals an aversion to goodness and a love of evil, a heart that says unto God, Depart from us. Such conduct springs from the power of darkness, by which the soul is not only guilty before justice but fettered by its own sin. And we know that all that can be done by mere rebuke or by the scourges of circumstance does not affect the heart for the better. What is needed is not a poor and short lived repentance which turns from sin for a time and then goes back to it with greater gusto, but that true repentance which hates sin as sin and turns from it with purpose of heart.

Therefore we pray that the Lord Himself would do what man cannot do. He has delivered us from the power of darkness, and deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. We ask that He would speak the sovereign word, Deliver him from going down to the Pit. For the prisoner is ready to be executed, but there comes undeserved deliverance, for the King's own Son has borne the penalty of all iniquities. The rebel sins and the King Himself suffers the penalty for the rebellion, and through that atonement by blood there is a clean jail delivery for the prisoners of hope.

We pray that those who have lived as players, charming and deceiving and wounding others for selfish pleasure, would be brought to see the deadly poison in the sweetness they have loved, that they would loathe it and leave it, and that they would be led to Jesus Christ, for there is only one way of salvation. Salvation is of the Lord, and the Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. To come to Jesus is the one and only way, and him that comes to Him He will in no wise cast out.

May the Lord grant them that godly repentance which needs not to be repented of, a new heart that abhors all hope of salvation from itself and trusts alone in the finished work of Christ, who said, It is finished, and rent the veil that sinners might have access to God. And may He not only forgive their guilt but sanctify their hearts, teaching them the mischief that comes from loving the world and the things thereof, and making them to walk in purity and truth, honoring marriage as the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and keeping the bed undefiled as God has ordained.

We will continue to pray that the Lord, who kindles the furnace and sits as a Refiner at the door, will in mercy snatch these souls as brands plucked from the burning, and that they will yet laud and magnify His name, saying, I will praise You, for You have heard me and have become my salvation.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We join you in bringing this request before the Lord and we agree in prayer for all who live as players in romantic relationships, using others for selfish desire and treating love without faithfulness or truth.

Such a way of living is sin and brings harm to themselves and to others, and it stands against God's good design for faithfulness and purity. Yet the gospel gives hope. There is repentance, and it has great power to set free from the burden of sins even those who have gone to the depths of wickedness, if they are willing to turn. God does not cast away the fallen into despair, but calls them to a godly sorrow that works repentance unto salvation, to a humble and contrite heart that condemns its own sin and hastens to receive forgiveness.

We pray that God by his grace would open their eyes to see their sin, draw them away from vain imaginings and bring them to a sense of their need for a Savior, that Christ would be formed in them. We pray for deliverance from evil which only Christ can accomplish, through his one sacrifice on the cross, and for the supply of good that comes only through faith in him, that they would put on Christ and receive the Spirit of adoption and become sons of God. We pray that having been set free, they would bring forth fruits worthy of repentance, walking in continence and purity, washing away what was stained by repentance, prayers and a changed life, and learning to love as God intends within the covenant of marriage as he created it.

May the Lord grant them repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and make their lives clean and steadfast in him. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.

Your prayer reflects the heart of God Himself, who is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. It is right to pray that those who live as players, using others for selfish and sexual gain, would be set free from that evil and come to genuine faith in Jesus Christ.

Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. It is the gift of God, not of ourselves, and it cannot be earned by works of any kind. We do not receive the Holy Spirit or forgiveness by trying harder or by keeping a set of rules. We receive Him by hearing with faith and believing on the Son whom God gave because He so loved the world.

Yet the faith that truly saves is never empty or dead. Faith must come first, and then a changed life follows from it. As Scripture teaches, we are justified by faith, and the kind of faith that justifies is the kind that produces a new life. Faith works. If someone says he has faith but there is no evidence in what he does, that claim is to be doubted. True faith brings the fruit of the Spirit and works of righteousness, not as the price of salvation but as the proof of it. John the Baptist called for fruit that demonstrates repentance, and James reminds us that faith without corresponding action is dead and cannot save. Faith and obedience work together, and by that working faith is shown to be living and complete.

The life you describe, playing with the hearts and bodies of others, is sin. It is the opposite of love out of a pure heart and of a good conscience and of sincere faith. It treats people as objects for pleasure rather than honoring God's design that love, faithfulness and sexual union belong within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. God does not bless or affirm that way of living. He calls those who practice it to repent, to turn from dead works and to place their faith toward God through Jesus Christ, who is the author and finisher of our faith and the author of eternal salvation.

God sees faith, and when He counts faith as righteousness He also begins to transform the one who believes. A man or woman who truly believes will not continue to live as a player without conviction. There will be a new desire to love well, to act with purity, honesty and self control, and to show in deeds the faith professed with the lips.

So we join you in praying that God would open eyes to see that salvation is offered now. Today is the day of salvation, and His grace that brings salvation has appeared to all. We pray that those caught in this pattern would hear the gospel, that God would grant them the gift of faith to believe in Jesus Christ, that they would repent and be forgiven, and that their faith would then be seen in a truly changed life that seeks to love others as God loves us. We also pray for you, that as you intercede you would have opportunity to speak the truth in love and to point them to Christ with grace and without compromise.
