Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray that anyone who behaves like a "player" in romantic relationships would be set free from their evil and come to faith in Christ. Thank you.

We join with you in bringing this before the Lord and we agree that those who live as players in romantic relationships need to be set free from this evil and brought to true faith in Christ.

We recognize this behavior for what it truly is in the eyes of God. It is not harmless or to be joked about, it is deception, selfishness, lust and often fornication, which is sexual immorality before or outside of marriage, and when marriage vows are broken it is adultery. It uses and wounds others made in the image of God for selfish pleasure and it dishonors the Lord's design for love and commitment. Scripture is clear that we are to flee sexual immorality, for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body, 1 Corinthians 6:18, and that marriage should be held in honor among all, and the bed undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers, Hebrews 13:4. We also hear the warning that the works of the flesh are obvious, which are adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, Galatians 5:19, and that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God apart from repentance. We rebuke this pattern of playing with hearts and bodies as sin that separates a person from God and harms everyone involved.

At the same time we believe in the power of the gospel to save and transform. We believe marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman as God ordained, and that any courtship or dating should be pursued with that holy goal in mind, seeking a godly spouse who is a fellow believer in Christ rather than a casual partner. We are not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, 2 Corinthians 6:14, and we are to let no sexual immorality or impurity be named among us as is proper among saints, Ephesians 5:3. The good news is that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new, 2 Corinthians 5:17. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, 1 John 1:9. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12, and that name is Jesus Christ.

We pray together now in Jesus' name. Heavenly Father, we lift up every person who has lived as a player, who has deceived, manipulated, and committed fornication and broken hearts for selfish gain. We ask that by Your Holy Spirit You would convict them deeply of sin and bring them to repentance. Open their eyes to see the pain they have caused and the holiness of Your design for love and marriage. Draw them to the cross where forgiveness is found and set them free from lust, lying, pride and bondage to sexual sin. We pray they would turn from their evil ways and place their full faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, receiving a new heart and a new life. Raise them up to pursue purity, to honor others, and if it is Your will, to seek a godly marriage that honors You between a man and a woman in lifelong faithfulness. Heal also those who have been wounded by such behavior and restore what has been broken. We ask that Your will be done and that You be glorified in bringing the lost to salvation through Jesus, for You are patient, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance, 2 Peter 3:9. We pray this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our only hope. Amen.

We appreciate you bringing this burden to prayer. Wanting to see people who use others in relationships set free and come to know Christ is a reflection of God's own heart for redemption, and we are grateful to stand with you in it.

We join you in asking God to work deeply in those who live this way. Real change is more than just stopping a behavior, it involves a whole renewal of how a person sees themselves and others, and only Christ can bring that kind of wholeness. We pray He would open eyes to the hurt caused, bring genuine conviction and a desire for a different path, and draw each one toward His forgiveness and new life.

It helps to keep praying with both honesty and hope, not excusing the harm while also not giving up on the person. If there are specific people on your heart, continuing to lift them by name before the Lord, and living out steady, respectful love in your own relationships, can be a quiet witness to the transformation you are praying for.

Father, we lift before You all who treat love lightly and wound others in the process. Bring them to see their need for You, grant them repentance and faith in Jesus, and lead them into a new way of living that honors You and others. Work in them what only You can do, and give us faithful hearts as we intercede. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your request is heard and we join you before the throne of grace with earnest prayer for those who live as players in romantic relationships, trifling with hearts and defiling what God has made holy.

We pray that the Lord, who alone can give repentance unto life, would grant to such souls not a carnal repentance that is of the flesh and soon forgotten, but that holy, heavenly repentance which is worked in the renewed heart by the Holy Spirit and which gives God glory. May they be brought to see their sin not lightly, but as an evil against a holy God, to grieve for it with a godly sorrow that needs not to be repented of, and to turn from it to look out of self to Christ and to Christ only.

We ask that faith and repentance, which are inseparable graces, may be wrought together in them, for without faith there is no salvation. May they be led to trust in the Lord Jesus Christ alone, whose blood was shed as the ransom found by God to deliver sinners from the pit. Salvation is of the Lord, and by divine grace through faith in Christ Jesus alone. May they leave the whole matter of their salvation with Him in unquestioning confidence, believing on His person, His finished work, and His power to save.

We pray for true deliverance, such as was wrought when the Lamb was slain. As Israel was brought forth not by their own strength but by the hand of God, so may these captives be brought forth from the bondage of lust and deceit and selfishness. May the Lord make their deliverance effectual, enriching them with silver and gold of His grace, drawing them from wells of salvation in Christ, and keeping them in peace within His borders.

And we pray that being saved, they may walk in newness of life, honoring the Lord in purity, forsaking all sexual immorality and every abuse of love, and should He call them to marriage, entering into that lifelong covenant of one man and one woman as God has ordained, where alone such union belongs. May their lives henceforth show that repentance which avoids present sin because of the love of God who died for us.

We plead that the hour of mercy would strike for each one, that the eternal purpose of Jehovah would be fulfilled in their salvation, and that they would find joy restored, upheld by His free Spirit to sin no more against Him. To Him be all glory for every soul thus turned from darkness to light. Amen.
