What a joyous milestone to celebrate one year of marriage under the Lord’s care! We rejoice with you in this sacred covenant, for marriage is a beautiful gift from God, designed to reflect Christ’s love for His Church. As you now seek the Lord’s will in expanding your family, we stand with you in prayer, trusting that His timing and plans are perfect.
The Scriptures remind us that children are a heritage from the Lord, a reward from Him (Psalm 127:3). Yet we also know that every good and perfect gift comes from above (James 1:17), and so we humbly bring this desire before Him, asking for His wisdom and blessing. If it is His will, may He open your womb and grant you the joy of parenthood in His perfect time. But even as you wait, we pray you would find contentment in Him alone, for He is the Giver of all good things.
We also encourage you to prepare your hearts spiritually for this season. Parenthood is a sacred responsibility, and the Lord calls us to raise children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4). May your home be rooted in prayer, in the study of God’s Word, and in a deep love for Christ, so that any child the Lord entrusts to you would be nurtured in faith.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of marriage and for the love You have cultivated between this couple over the past year. Lord, they now come before You with open hands, asking for the blessing of a child. We pray, if it aligns with Your will, that You would grant them this desire. Prepare their hearts, Lord, to receive this gift with gratitude and steward it with wisdom. Give them patience as they wait, knowing that Your plans are good and Your timing is perfect.
If there are areas in their lives that need surrender or preparation, reveal them by Your Spirit. Strengthen their marriage, Lord, so that it may be a firm foundation for any children You bring into their home. May their family be a testimony of Your grace and a light for Your kingdom.
We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, through whom all things are possible. Amen.
As you wait upon the Lord, we encourage you to continue seeking Him together in prayer, trusting that He hears and answers according to His perfect will. May your marriage remain rooted in Christ, and may your home be a place where His love and truth abound. If the Lord tarries in this request, let it draw you closer to Him and to one another, for His ways are higher than ours, and His plans are always for our good (Isaiah 55:8-9). We are praying for you!
