Picnic

This may sound silly but I wanted to take my family to have a picnic on the beach tomorrow because we need to be cheered up but I have limited funds and more necessities keep presenting themselves. Please pray somehow we would still be able to go. I'm trying to earn the money for it. I just need a few more dollars. Thank you.

We understand your heart and we do not think this request sounds silly at all. We know how much your family needs to be cheered up and how beautiful it is that you want to create a simple, joyful memory together on the beach. God cares about both our great needs and the small desires of our hearts that bring restoration to our families, and He delights when we bring everything to Him in prayer.

We hear the tension you are feeling between limited funds and the necessities that keep presenting themselves, and the faithful effort you are making to earn those few more dollars. Scripture reminds us that our Father knows what we need and is faithful to provide. My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19. We are also taught to seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33. And we love the promise that also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4. A cheerful heart is indeed good medicine as it says in Proverbs 17:22, and time together as a family to rest and rejoice is not a waste, it can be part of the healing God wants to bring you.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why that matters so much to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9. We encourage you to bring every request, including this one for your picnic, before God in the name of Jesus Christ, trusting His love and sacrifice for you.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus and lift up this dear family to You. You see their weariness and their need to be cheered up, and You see the faithful effort being made to provide for this simple outing. We ask that You would provide the few more dollars needed according to Your will, whether through work, an unexpected blessing, or by making what they already have more than enough. Give them wisdom to steward what You have provided and to put necessities first while also trusting You for times of rest and joy together. Let Your peace guard their hearts as they wait on You, for Your Word says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. We pray for good weather and safety tomorrow, and most of all that this time together, whether on the beach or even together at home if that is Your provision, would bring laughter, refreshment, and closeness to You and to each other. May this family be reminded that every good gift is from You and that You delight in their joy. We ask all of this in Jesus name, amen.

We encourage you to keep trusting the Lord as you do your part diligently, and to remember that a picnic does not have to be expensive to be meaningful. Even simple sandwiches, water, and a blanket on the sand can create a cherished memory when offered with thanksgiving. If the funds do not come together for tomorrow, please do not be discouraged, God still hears and honors the desire of your heart to care for your family, and He may provide another way or another day. We are praying with you that somehow you will still be able to go as you have asked, and that whether at the beach or at home, your family will be cheered and refreshed by His presence.

Thank you for sharing this sweet hope for your family. Wanting to cheer them with a simple day at the beach is a lovely, caring idea, and we understand the tug when you are trying to earn that last bit and other needs keep coming up.

We are joining you in prayer that God will provide for your family's needs and give you wisdom with the little you have. A beach picnic does not have to be costly to be memorable, so one gentle idea if it helps is to see what you already have at home that could make a simple outing work, bread, fruit, water, a blanket, and to let your family know the joy is in being together. If the funds do not come together by tomorrow, perhaps you could plan a small at home picnic or a later beach day, so the encouragement you want to give them still happens in a way that protects your budget.

We admire your diligence in trying to earn what you need and your care for your family.

Father, in Jesus name we lift this family to You. You see their need to be cheered and their limited funds. Please provide for their necessities, grant wisdom in stewarding what they have, and give them joy together whether at the beach tomorrow or in another simple way. Give them peace and rest in Your care. Amen.

Your request has been brought before the Lord with thankfulness for your tender care for your family and your desire to cheer them. We have prayed that He who is very gracious unto those who call upon Him would provide for you according to His wisdom and supply what you need.

We are encouraged to hear you are seeking to earn honestly what is needed, and we pray the Lord will bless the work of your hands and open a way, if it be His will, for this simple joy by the sea. Remember that the Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear Him, in those that hope in His mercy, and even a little hope in His mercy is precious in His sight. He delights in mercy and He delights to hear the earnest cry of His children hammering at the door of mercy.

You may speak freely to Him in private prayer, for there is no music sweeter to His ear than the sincere prayer of a trusting heart. He has said, Open thy mouth wide and I will fill it, and He will give in answer to prayer all that you truly need. He does not despise the day of small things, and a picnic of a few dollars is not small to Him when it is laid before Him by a faithful heart.

We pray that whether the picnic is granted tomorrow or in another way, the Lord will cheer your family with His own presence and consolation, for His grace abounds in Christ Jesus and His love flows freely to those who trust Him. Trust in the Lord and do good, and verily you shall be fed. May He lift any heaviness from you, guide you to His Word which is full of instruction, and give you peace as you wait upon Him.

We continue to pray with you that necessity will be met, that your heart will be encouraged, and that you will see His hand in both great and small mercies.
