Picnic

Good and Faithful Servant
This may sound silly but I wanted to take my family to have a picnic on the beach tomorrow because we need to be cheered up but I have limited funds and more necessities keep presenting themselves. Please pray somehow we would still be able to go. I'm trying to earn the money for it. Thank you.

We hear the tenderness of your heart for your family and your desire to bring them cheer, and we join with you in bringing this before our Heavenly Father. It is not silly at all to desire wholesome joy together as a family, for every good gift comes from above and God delights in the love you show for your household.

We are encouraged that you are seeking to earn honestly what you need, for scripture teaches that diligent hands are blessed. Proverbs 13:11 says wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away, but he who gathers by hand makes it grow. At the same time we understand the pressure of limited funds when necessities continue to arise, and we want to encourage you to seek first wisdom and stewardship. Philippians 4:19 reminds us, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. And Matthew 6:33 teaches, But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. The Lord knows the difference between our needs and our desires, and He often provides joy in simple ways that do not require much money.

A picnic on the beach does not need to be costly to be beautiful. This is the day that Yahweh has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24. A simple meal, bread and fruit and water, shared with thankfulness on the sand can be just as refreshing as a great feast, because Ecclesiastes 3:13 says also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy good in all his labor, is the gift of God. A cheerful heart makes good medicine, as Proverbs 17:22 tells us, and time together in God’s creation can lift spirits even when circumstances are tight.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and can come boldly in prayer. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. And Acts 4:12 declares, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by trusting in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we are saved and our prayers are heard. We pray you know this hope personally.

We lift you up together in prayer.

Father in heaven, we thank You for this family and for the love that desires to bring joy and refreshment. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ that You would provide for every true necessity they have and, if it is Your will, open a way for them to enjoy this simple picnic together tomorrow. Give them wisdom to steward what You have provided, peace as they trust You, and creativity to make much of little. Whether they are able to go to the beach or must find joy at home, let Your presence be their cheer and let their hearts be content in You. We ask that You would bless the work of their hands as they seek to earn honestly, calm any anxiety, and let their time together glorify You. We pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to cast your cares on Him, for Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Trust Him with both the necessities and this desire, and rejoice in whatever He provides, knowing He loves you and your family deeply.

We hear how much you want to lift your family's spirits, and wanting a simple day together at the beach is not silly at all. It makes sense you would long for that when things have felt discouraging, and also feel pulled when money is tight and other necessities keep coming up. We appreciate your honest effort to earn what you need.

We are praying for you for tomorrow, for wisdom about what is best and for a little joy together, whether it looks exactly as you hoped or in a simpler form. It is wise to keep necessities first, and a picnic can still be meaningful without spending much.

One gentle next step that helps many families is to set a small, firm limit beforehand for what you can spend without strain, then get creative inside it. See what you already have at home for sandwiches and snacks, bring water from home, check ahead for any parking or beach fees, and let everyone help pack and carry. If the funds do not come together for the beach this time, a picnic in the backyard or living room with the same food can still give that unhurried time together you are craving, and you can keep the beach idea for another day soon.

Father, in Jesus' name we bring this family to You. You see their desire to be cheered and the pressure they feel over finances. Give them wisdom to steward what they have well, provide for their true needs, and grant them rest and laughter together in the way that is best. Draw them closer to each other and to You. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

🙏Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

There is nothing silly in your desire to cheer your family with a simple day together, and it is no small thing in the eyes of our Father when a heart seeks to give happiness to those entrusted to its care. I have read your request with tenderness, and I understand the weariness of limited funds when necessities press upon you on every side.

You are in what Scripture calls the day of small things, and that day is often a time of considerable anxiety and fear. Yet despise it not, for the Lord has His eye upon it. He who noted the widow's mite and the sparrow's fall does not overlook a picnic by the sea when it is desired out of love for your household.

You say you are trying to earn the money for it by honest labor, and that is well. Go on in that diligence, and at the same time open your mouth wide unto the Lord, for He has said, Open thy mouth wide and I will fill it. He taketh pleasure in them that fear Him, in those that hope in His mercy, even though that hope be but small and trembling. Bring this temporal want before Him in childlike confidence, for He is a Father who loves to hear the cries of His children, even about the little joys that brighten a home.

Let us pray together. O gracious Father, Thou knowest the desire of this household to be cheered and refreshed together. Thou seest the narrow means and the many necessities. In Thy kindness provide what is needful, whether by Thine own providence in opening a way to earn, or by withholding other expenses, that this family may have a brief and innocent respite together if it be Thy will. Above all, let them find their cheer not only in the beach and the air, but in Thy presence with them, and teach them to trust Thee for daily bread and daily joy. Grant contentment if the answer be to wait, and gratitude if the way be opened. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
