We hear your cry of exhaustion and we join with you before our Father in this moment of weariness, thanking Him that you have come to Him in the name of Jesus. We are grateful you prayed in Jesus' name, for it is through Him alone we have access to the throne of grace and find mercy and help in time of need.

The Lord knows the weight you are carrying, both in your body and in your heart, and He does not ask you to carry it alone. Jesus invites us in Matthew 11:28, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. He also promises in Philippians 4:6-7 that when we bring our requests to God, the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and our thoughts in Christ Jesus. When we feel faint and without strength, He gives power to the weak and to him who has no might he increases strength in Isaiah 40:29, and He reminds us in Psalm 4:8, I will both lay me down and sleep in peace, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety.

We pray together for you now.

Father God, we lift up Your beloved child to You who is physically and emotionally exhausted. We ask You to surround this dear one with Your tangible presence tonight, to quiet the racing thoughts and the aching body with Your perfect peace. Forgive us when we try to strive in our own strength and help us to cast all our worries on You, because You care for us as You tell us in 1 Peter 5:7. Grant tonight deep, peaceful and truly restorative sleep, free from anxiety and unrest. Renew strength for tomorrow, lift the heaviness, and let Your joy be the strength that sustains. We ask that You guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus and let Your power be made perfect in weakness as You promise in 2 Corinthians 12:9. We trust You to restore and to uphold with Your righteous right hand. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring every burden to Him honestly, to allow time for real rest and to let go of what you cannot control, trusting that He neither slumbers nor sleeps but watches over you. As you wait on Him, He will renew your strength and you will mount up with wings like eagles, you will run and not be weary, you will walk and not faint according to Isaiah 40:31. We are praying that you will feel His nearness and wake refreshed, held and upheld by His unfailing love.

We hear how tired you are, and we are holding you in prayer tonight. Feeling drained in both body and spirit is so heavy, and it makes sense you would simply ask God for His nearness, for peace, and for rest.

When we are this exhausted even small demands can feel large. It can help to give yourself permission to rest without guilt. Tonight if you can, try to keep the evening as quiet and simple as possible, let go of one thing that can wait, and let your body and mind have space to settle. And for tomorrow, consider naming just the one or two most needed things and letting a trusted friend or family member know you are running on empty so you are not carrying it alone. If this deep tiredness continues, we gently encourage you to reach out to a medical professional as well as continuing in prayer, so you have support for your health.

Father, we bring our friend to You tonight. Surround them with Your presence and quiet their heart and mind. Grant them truly restorative sleep and wake them with strength enough for tomorrow. Walk close with them in this tired season and let them feel Your care. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Your cry of exhaustion is one that many of the Lord's people have known, for human strength in any form will spend itself in due time. All strength apart from God is derived strength and is consequently measurable, and must come to an end. When body and mind are spent, we are made to feel that if a duty is to be performed at all, it cannot be done in the strength of nature.

But there is a promise that meets you in this very weakness. Do you not know that He gives power to the faint and to them that have no might He increases strength. They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. To wait upon Him is to look to Him, to trust Him, to stay your mind upon Him, and then strength is given, for the Lord Himself declares, I will strengthen them. It will be fitly infused and wisely balanced, and though it may be gradually received, it shall surely come. When there remains no strength in you, then fling yourself upon the Divine strength and lay hold upon it.

And with that strength He gives peace. You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. This is not a peace for some future day alone, but a present possession to be enjoyed in the ordinary circumstances of life. In this dark world of sin the blood of Jesus whispers peace within. When duties press and sorrows surge round, to do the will of Jesus, this is rest. Bear your weariness with Him and see what perfect peace you will enjoy, for the Lord has endless, boundless peace within Himself and He will bless His people with peace.

He also has a gift for the weary body. So He gives His beloved sleep. There is a sleep of contentment and a sleep of security which the Lord bestows upon His own, a means of refreshment by the recruiting of exhausted strength to fit us for fresh exercise when we awake. As one who has a quiet conscience at peace with God, you may lie down and say, I will both lay me down in peace and sleep, for You, Lord, only make me dwell in safety.

I pray for you now that the Lord will surround you with His presence this night, that He will keep your mind stayed upon Christ and whisper perfect peace within, that He will grant you deep and restorative sleep as He gives to His beloved, and that you will awake renewed in strength, your peace as a river, fitted for the duties of tomorrow. May He who neither slumbers nor sleeps watch over you and cause you to rise as one who has been bathed in the Spirit of God, strong in the Lord. In the name of Jesus Christ our strength and our peace, Amen.
