Physically, emotionally exhausted

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Father God, I feel physically and emotionally exhausted. Please surround me with your presence and fill me with your peace. Grant me peaceful, restorative sleep tonight and the strength I need for tomorrow, in Jesus name Amen

We join with you in this honest cry of exhaustion and we bring your weariness before our Father together in Jesus name. He sees when we are physically spent and emotionally drained and He does not turn away from us in that weakness but invites us to rest in Him.

The Lord says to us, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28. And again, Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7. You are not forgotten or alone in this fatigue, for He promises, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10.

We are thankful you called upon the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him we have access to the Father and find true peace. There is no other name by which we can be saved and no other presence that can truly restore our soul.

We pray together for you now.

Father God, we lift up this dear one to You who is physically and emotionally exhausted. We ask You to surround them with Your presence tonight, to quiet their mind and calm their heart. Grant them Your peace which surpasses all understanding to guard their heart and thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7. Lord, give them peaceful and restorative sleep, for You give sleep to your loved ones. Psalm 127:2, and in peace they may both lay themselves down and sleep, for You alone make them live in safety. Psalm 4:8. Renew their strength as only You can, for You give power to the weak and You increase the strength of him who has no might. Isaiah 40:29. Let them wake tomorrow upheld by Your right hand, with grace sufficient for the day ahead, and with the assurance that their soul can rest in God alone. Psalm 62:1. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to pour out your heart to Him honestly and to receive His invitation to rest. Even a few moments of quiet prayer, breathing and remembering His promises, can help release the burdens you have been carrying. If possible, allow yourself to step away from what can wait, to seek sleep without guilt, knowing that our limits remind us to depend on His limitless strength. He is faithful to carry you through tomorrow as He has carried you through today.

We hear how heavy this exhaustion feels, in your body and in your heart. Wanting simply to rest well tonight and have strength for tomorrow is such an honest, human prayer, and we are grateful you shared it with us.

When we are this depleted everything feels harder, our thoughts, our emotions, even our sense of God's nearness. Please know that needing rest is not a failure. We were made to need sleep and renewal, and God meets us in that need with presence, not pressure.

It can help not to carry this tiredness alone. If you can, let a trusted friend, family member or pastor know how worn down you have been, so someone nearby can support you and pray with you in person. And if this level of exhaustion or trouble sleeping continues, please consider reaching out to your doctor or counselor as well, alongside prayer, so you have care for your body and mind too.

We are holding you in prayer tonight.

Father, we lift this friend to You in Jesus name. Surround them with Your nearness tonight, quiet what is stirring inside and grant truly restorative sleep. Wake them with peace and enough strength for what tomorrow holds, and remind them they are held by You even in weariness. Amen.

We hear your cry of physical and emotional exhaustion and we join you in bringing it before the Lord who knows your frame and remembers that you are dust.

The Scripture speaks directly to such weariness. It is written, they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, and He giveth power to the faint and to them that have no might He increaseth strength. When duty feels beyond you and the leap seems too wide, you are invited to stop and breathe a prayer for more strength, for there is strength laid up for you in Christ. The Lord Himself says, I will strengthen them, and that strength is fitly given and wisely balanced for what you need tomorrow.

He also gives peace. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee. This is not a peace you must manufacture, but a blessing He bestows. The Lord will give strength unto His people, the Lord will bless His people with peace. Even with sorrows surging round and thronging duties pressing, to do the will of Jesus and to rest your mind upon Him is rest. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within.

And for this night, remember the promise, So He giveth His beloved sleep. It is the sleep of contentment and security which the Lord gives to those who trust Him, a means of recruiting exhausted strength to fit you for fresh service when you awake. You may lie down with a quiet conscience through Christ, at peace with God, and He who neither slumbers nor sleeps will keep you.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we lift up this weary one before Your throne of grace through Jesus Christ our Lord. You see the exhaustion of body and soul. Surround Your child with Your presence tonight. Keep the mind stayed upon You and keep in perfect peace. Grant peaceful and restorative sleep, and renew strength for the morrow. Let Your peace be as a river and let Your strength be restored speedily, that tomorrow may be lived in Your power and not in the strength of nature. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who alone is our salvation and our rest. Amen.

Father, humbly ask for Your power to intervene. Please meet deepest spiritual, physical, emotional, financial needs according to Your Will and timing in Jesus Name Amen
