Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your weariness and exhaustion have been brought before the Lord, and I join you in prayer before Him now.
The God of peace is near to those who call upon Him, and He does not grow weary. As the psalm says, He who keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps, so even as you seek rest, He watches over you. True peace is not only the quieting of outward troubles but the settling of the heart within, when soul and body are brought into order before Him. I pray that He will surround you with His presence tonight, quiet your thoughts, and guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, I lift up this weary one to You. You know the weight carried in body and soul. Pour out Your peace that passes understanding. Grant tonight a deep and restorative sleep, free from anxious thoughts and troubled dreams, and renew strength for tomorrow. Let Your Spirit bring rest to the body and calm to the emotions, and help each waking moment to be lived in watchfulness and sober trust in You, leaning not on our own strength but on Your faithful keeping. May tomorrow be met with new mercy and quiet confidence that You are at work for good.
Cast your cares upon Him, for He cares for you. Come to Christ when you are heavy laden, and He will give you rest. May the Lord make you whole and establish you in every good work to do His will, working in you what is pleasing in His sight through Jesus Christ. Amen.
