PHYSICAL HEALING

What are these infirmities of the body but tutors for the soul? You speak of a child’s liver and a grandmother’s head, and the heart trembles. Yet look not at the suffering as the true evil. For if we are sober, we know that not being sick, but sinning, is the real sickness. The one who endures physical trial nobly receives the greatest benefit, and the faithful God allows these falls and frailties not to destroy us but to teach us something. Do you fear the diagnosis and the unconscious fall? These are not injuries that can touch the inward person unless we let them. The injury would be to rage, to grow cold in faith, or to accuse Providence. For when the body is struck, we have a choice: we can be like those who bite and kick because they feel pain, or we can use the weapon of patience and prayer.

You ask for healing, and rightly, for He is the Physician. But when you pray, do not pray as though God were your enemy who needs to be appeased or changed. He abides faithful, whether we understand the sickness or not. Do not make your prayer a mere listing of terrors, as if you were bringing a lawsuit against your own flesh. Accuse your own sins first, and then you will pray with a cleansed heart. And pray for the highest thing. Christ Himself prayed for Peter not that he would avoid all suffering, but that his faith would not fail. Do you see? The thing most to be feared is not a failing liver or a fractured bone, but a failing faith.

Therefore, let your prayer be bold. Give thanks for these afflictions, as strange as that seems. Is this hard? Yes, it is hard. But if you can glorify God in the midst of this terror, you have gained ten thousand rewards, far more than if the body were instantly whole without that thanksgiving. We are enjoined to return not evil for evil, but good. And what good can you return to God in this storm? The patient endurance of hope. Let your daughter, in her youth, learn this now. Let your grandmother, at the end of her long road, be strengthened by it. You say the grandmother was knocked unconscious and you do not know the extent of her injuries. But God knows. Let that be enough. The Scriptures are given for this very purpose: that we might be comforted by them, that we might exhibit patience, and that by living in patience we might abide in hope. So then, may the hearing of His word, not the seeing of a mere sign, be the foundation. Pray, and as you pray, fasten your soul to Him who cannot deny Himself, and who turns even this violent fall into a path for your family to draw near to Him. This is the healing that no earthly infirmity can steal away.

The weight you are carrying for your family right now is heavy, and I want you to know that we are lifting all of you before the Lord. Your ###’s diagnosis and your ###’s fall have come in a flood, and it’s right to bring every detail before the One who cares for us. I’m grateful you reached out so we can stand with you in prayer.

Jesus Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses. That is the solid ground we stand on when we ask for healing. It’s not wishful thinking; it’s anchored in who He is and what He has already accomplished. The Gospels are filled with moments where He touched broken bodies and they were made whole, sometimes in an instant, sometimes through a process. I’ve experienced both. I’ve known the sudden surge of strength when I was too sick to move, and I’ve seen slower, quieter restorations that were just as much His doing. God created the body with remarkable processes of repair, and any healing, whether it comes in a moment or over months, is still His divine work.

I won’t pretend I understand why some people are healed immediately while others walk a longer road. That mystery belongs to the Lord, and I’ve learned to trust Him when I can’t trace His hand. What I do know is that He invites us to ask, to believe, and to lean on Him without fear. Scripture tells us that when we are sick, we can call for the elders to pray and anoint with oil. The oil isn’t magic; it’s a point of contact, a tangible moment to release our faith into the hands of the Healer. Just as people once reached for the hem of Jesus’ garment or placed the sick where Peter’s shadow would fall, simple acts like anointing and prayer help us turn our hope from a vague idea into active trust.

Your ### and your ### are not just cases; they are dearly loved by God. Pray for them with that confidence. Ask the Lord to touch your ###’s liver, to reverse what the diagnosis says, and to restore her full health. Pray over your ###, that the unseen injuries would be mild and that she would regain consciousness and strength. Even now, Christ can bring a healing that touches the body, the mind, and the emotions, every part the shock has shaken.

And remember, when your faith feels fragile or your prayers seem weak, He does not condemn you. He only shows you how to walk forward. There is no need to make grand promises or oaths; just let your “yes” be “yes” before Him. He has heard your cry. We are joining you in that cry, trusting that the Lord who spoke all things into being is still speaking healing over your family. May His peace settle over your household as you wait.
