The waiting itself is often the heaviest part of the burden, when a needful errand presses on one hand and an expected word presses on the other, and you cannot be in two places at once. The Lord knows your frame and sees this small but tangled care, the vehicle that must be tended and the call that must not be missed, and the lack of means to bridge the two.
You do well to bring it to Him in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we may come. Remember that blessed are all they that wait for Him. Our God is a waiting God, and His people are a waiting people, not waiting in despair nor in hesitation, but waiting in hope. His promise may tarry, but it never fails, and if it seems to fail for the time being, will it fail forevermore. Has God forgotten to be gracious. No, He has not.
I would have you take to heart also that the very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. You have done what is right to seek the information that is lacking and to be reachable. Do the right thing that lies before you and then be no longer anxious about it, but leave the result with God. He who orders the march of the armies of heaven and writes His name even upon the brow of the tempest, will order this also for your good. If you have His law written on your heart, it will preserve you, and the heart will preserve the writing, even in such daily trials as these.
Let us pray together. O Lord our God, You have taught us from our youth and have shown us Your wondrous works. Look upon this Your servant in this season of waiting. Grant favor in the inspection and care of the vehicle, grant a clear and timely connection with those who hold the needed information, and grant that nothing required be hindered. Quiet the anxious heart, and help to trust and not to fear, believing that where You begin a work You will complete it. Give patience to wait upon You and faith to leave all affairs in Your hands, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is the sinner's Savior. Amen.
