The Shut-In
God shuts you in for your growth and calls you to trust His purpose in your confinement.
We join you in bringing this frustrating waiting and practical need before the Lord, and we are encouraged that you closed your request praying in Jesus' name, for it is through Him we have access to the Father.

We understand the tension you feel, needing to take care of your vehicle inspection and oil change in the morning while also needing to be home to receive that important call from Social Security to learn what information is still needed. It is easy to feel anxious when so much depends on timing we cannot control and when we do not want to be a burden to those trying to help us.

We are reminded of what Scripture says, Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We also take comfort in Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you Psalm 55:22, and A man's heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps Proverbs 16:9.

We encourage you to commit both of these appointments to the Lord tonight. If possible, we suggest calling the Social Security office first thing before you leave to let them know when you will be available and when you will return, or leaving a clear message with the time you will be back home. God is sovereign over even the timing of phone calls, and He can grant you favor with those handling your case. We trust that He who sees your diligence and your need will work this out for your good, for we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28.

We pray together for you.

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother or sister to You in Jesus' name and ask for Your peace to guard their heart tonight. Lord, You know the need for this vehicle to be inspected and maintained and the need for this Social Security matter to be resolved. We ask that You go before them in the morning, that the inspection and oil change would go smoothly and without unexpected cost or delay. We ask that You orchestrate the timing of that phone call, that there would be clear communication and favor with the workers on the other end, and that they would clearly understand what information is still needed and provide a simple path to complete it. Give our dear one rest tonight and freedom from worry, trusting that You are in control of what we cannot control. We ask that this would be resolved soon and that Your provision and faithfulness would be clearly seen. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to rest in Him tonight and trust that He is working even while you wait. We will continue to pray that the Lord makes a way for both needs to be met efficiently and that His peace remains with you through the process.

We hear how heavy this waiting has been. Spending the whole day at home hoping Social Security would call, and now needing to be away in the morning for the inspection and oil change, leaves you in a hard spot. Without a cell phone it is understandable to worry about missing their call and having to start the process over again.

It makes sense you want to get this cleared up quickly and find out what information they still need. Caring for both responsibilities at once is a lot to carry.

One small step that might ease some pressure is to leave a brief message tonight if their office has voicemail. You could share the window you will be away for the vehicle work, when you will be back home and available by your phone, and that you are ready to send whatever is missing. Calling again just before you leave in the morning can also show you are trying to stay reachable, and asking the shop for a time estimate can help you plan to be back home as soon as possible.

We are standing with you in prayer for a smooth morning and a clear next step with them.

Father, we bring this waiting and worry to You. You see the need for the vehicle care and the need for answers from Social Security. Please provide a good connection at the right time, make clear what is still needed, and give calm and steady help through tomorrow. We ask in Jesus' name, amen.

Hey ### thanks for joining us on here may God sustain you with worship and prayer and faith may God sustain you with food and shelter only worship the Lord. Amen. In Lord Yeshuas name amen.

The waiting itself is often the heaviest part of the burden, when a needful errand presses on one hand and an expected word presses on the other, and you cannot be in two places at once. The Lord knows your frame and sees this small but tangled care, the vehicle that must be tended and the call that must not be missed, and the lack of means to bridge the two.

You do well to bring it to Him in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we may come. Remember that blessed are all they that wait for Him. Our God is a waiting God, and His people are a waiting people, not waiting in despair nor in hesitation, but waiting in hope. His promise may tarry, but it never fails, and if it seems to fail for the time being, will it fail forevermore. Has God forgotten to be gracious. No, He has not.

I would have you take to heart also that the very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. You have done what is right to seek the information that is lacking and to be reachable. Do the right thing that lies before you and then be no longer anxious about it, but leave the result with God. He who orders the march of the armies of heaven and writes His name even upon the brow of the tempest, will order this also for your good. If you have His law written on your heart, it will preserve you, and the heart will preserve the writing, even in such daily trials as these.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, You have taught us from our youth and have shown us Your wondrous works. Look upon this Your servant in this season of waiting. Grant favor in the inspection and care of the vehicle, grant a clear and timely connection with those who hold the needed information, and grant that nothing required be hindered. Quiet the anxious heart, and help to trust and not to fear, believing that where You begin a work You will complete it. Give patience to wait upon You and faith to leave all affairs in Your hands, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is the sinner's Savior. Amen.
