Heartbreaking! This is an actual photo of a Christian family's home as it burned down - after villagers set it on fire. On December 10, they lost their home and everything they owned.
In northern Vietnam, ### and his family of six became the first believers in their village in 2018. Immediately, local authorities and villagers saw their conversion as an act of betrayal to their tribe and condition, fearing their 'betrayal' might anger the village's guardian spirits.
In the beginning, the village chief and the villagers hurled verbal threats at ###'s family. But in 2020, when ### began to share the gospel with his neighbours, angry villagers destroyed his farm.
Still, they continued to share about Jesus and led 10 families in the village to Christ. When the believers began to meet together in ###'s house, the village leaders warned: "we will find a way to kick your family out of the village! We will destroy your farm, your livestock, and burn down your house."
"I will obey my God instead of men," ### told the village chief. Since that day, ###'s family was isolated from the other believers, and his children have not been allowed to talk to their classmates at school.
### and his family were not able to save anything from the fire. Their rice and corn harvest, clothes, and children's school materials were all destroyed. ###'s family is afraid, but they say they will continue to remain in the Lord.
The family is temporarily staying at a church member's house. Open Doors is working with local partners to extend help to ### and his family.
Please pray that the Lord will continue to give peace and comfort to ###'s family.
Please pray for provision as God uses His people to minister to ###, his family and other believers in the village. They are traumatized.
Pray that God will use this trial to strengthen the faith of ###, his family and the 10 families they have led to Christ. Pray that the gospel will continue to go forward.
Thanks so much for praying, God bless. Taken from Open Doors USA text alert.
