We thank you for sharing this request and we join you in prayer for peaceful sleep and for rest from stress and anxiety.

Scripture reminds us that the Lord who keeps you neither slumbers nor sleeps, and that He has given night and sleep as a gift for our good, a haven and a medicine for our weariness even when our hearts are heavy. He has bound sleep to our nature in His care for us, so that we may be restored.

We also hear the call to guard our hearts and to watch and be sober, not with the restless anxiety that drives sleep away, but with a calm trust in God. When cares and fears press in, we are invited to cast them upon Him, to stand steadfast in His promises, and to let His peace guard our thoughts.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your constant care and for Your watch over us day and night. We ask You to dissolve anxious thoughts and to quiet every troubled heart. Grant peaceful and refreshing sleep, and let Your peace which passes understanding guard heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Help us to rest in Your keeping, to trust Your goodness, and to wake renewed to walk in sober watchfulness and hope. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our salvation and our rest. Amen.
