Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this update and for allowing us to pray with you for your son. It is encouraging to hear of the calmer days you have seen and we join you in giving thanks to Jesus for every measure of peace he has shown. We also hear your concern for the anxiety and restlessness that still comes at times, and we bring that before the Lord with you.
God sees affliction and hears the cry of a parent's heart. As you have been praying, remember that the Lord's care is not distant. Jesus showed this when He spoke a word and healed the nobleman's son from many miles away, and when He opened the eyes of the man born blind. Those works were not His alone, but the works of the Father done through the Son, so that all would honor the Son and believe that He is the Christ, the only begotten Son of God. He is not a created being, but the eternal Son, and Scripture is clear that the only way to have life and to be accepted by God is through Him. Whoever has the Son has life. That truth is the foundation for every prayer we offer, and we are grateful that you are bringing your son to Jesus in faith.
The heart of the Father toward His children is like the father who saw his returning son while he was still far off and ran to embrace him, not after he had cleaned himself up, but in his brokenness, restoring him fully as a son. That is the Father's heart toward you and your son. He does not turn away. He welcomes, He restores, and He clothes His children with grace.
We also take comfort in the promise you mentioned, that where two or three are gathered in His name, He is present among them. We stand in agreement with you, asking according to His perfect will, trusting that He hears and that His Word cannot fail. God is not a man that He should lie, and what He has spoken He will make good. We can trust Him as well for physical healing as for spiritual healing, for by the wounds of Jesus we are healed.
So we pray for your son now. We ask the Lord to surround him with a hedge of protection and to clothe him with the full armor of God, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. We ask that ministering angels would encamp around him and guard him in all his ways, and that no weapon formed against him would prosper.
We ask for healing in his mind, body and spirit. We bring before the Lord the challenges you described, the autism, the trauma responses, the anxiety and sensory difficulties, the struggles around meals and sleep and daily routines, and we ask for His calming hand upon every part of his life. We pray that torment, confusion, fear, restlessness and rigidity would leave and that in their place the Lord would fill him with peace that surpasses all understanding, with joy, gentleness, clarity, satisfaction and gratitude. We pray that his meals would be peaceful, that his taste and appetite would be restored, that he would eat with thankfulness and be satisfied, and that his sleep would be quiet and refreshing. We pray that he would be able to focus, to communicate his needs without negative habits, to adjust to his schedule and activities with contentment, and to know that he is included, respected, accepted and loved.
We also pray for his relationships. We ask God to restore and strengthen the bond between him and his sisters and to provide godly friendships and mentors who will encourage him with patience and kindness. We ask Him to remove division, disrespect and any harmful influence from your family, and to build unity, compassion and unconditional love among you all.
We pray for you and for his caregivers. We ask God to fill you with wisdom, knowledge, patience and discernment to do what is right to help him be all that God created him to be, and to guide every meeting and decision regarding his care. We ask Him to provide dedicated, gentle and faithful caregivers who will bring out the best in him, and to give your son a gentle and trusting heart toward those who help him.
We thank the Lord for the victories already seen and we continue to ask for breakthrough, not in our own timing but according to His perfect will and for His glory. May His light dispel every shadow and may His presence fill your home with calm, joy and safety. We declare over your son that he is loved, kept, and held in the grace of Jesus, and that the Holy Spirit would fill him daily with peace, favor and strength.
In the name of Jesus we pray, trusting in the Father's love and the power of His Son. Amen.
