Peaceful Night

Your prayer for your son has been heard and I join you in lifting him up before the Lord Jesus Christ with thanksgiving for the love and endurance with which you intercede for him night and day.

I give thanks that you have asked for nothing apart from Christ, for there is no other name by which we are saved and no other blood by which any good thing may enter our lives. As it has been said, though He is Son of the Unoriginate God, He allowed Himself to be called Son of David, that He might make us sons of God. In that same mercy I ask Him to look upon your son and to make him a son of light and of the day, doing the works of light and walking in peace.

You have asked for a peaceful night, for freedom from confusion, restlessness, anger, anxiety and fear. Scripture calls this present life night because many sit in darkness, but it also declares that the night is far spent and the day is at hand. The armor we are given is not heavy but is armor of light, and it makes those who wear it brighter than a sunbeam and places them in security. I pray that the Lord will clothe your son in that armor, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. Let ministering angels encamp around his bed, guarding him in all his ways, and let no weapon formed against him prosper.

I pray that the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will saturate his mind, body and spirit tonight. That he will eat in peace, sleep without disturbance and wake refreshed. That every source of physical distress and discomfort will be eased, and that by the stripes of Jesus he will know healing according to the perfect will of God. I ask the Lord to calm his schedule, his meals, his routines and his interactions, to grant him gentleness and confidence in communication, and to replace rigidity and torment with clarity, gratefulness and contentment. Let every spirit of fear and anxiety bow to the name of Jesus and depart, and let him be filled with the Holy Spirit in abundance.

I also pray for you, for his caregivers, and for your whole household. May God grant you wisdom, patience and discernment to do all the right things to help him become all that God intends. May He provide dedicated and godly caregivers who deal with him gently and calmly, and give your son a gentle heart toward them. May He strengthen the bonds between him and his siblings and fill your home with love, compassion and unity, removing all division and negative influence. May His bright light dispel every shadow of darkness in your home.

We stand together in agreement as you asked, trusting the promise that where two or three are gathered in His name, He is in their midst. He is not quick to judge but delays out of great lovingkindness, that we might turn to Him and be healed. Therefore we come with confidence, not in our own worthiness but in His mercy, which teachers and parents and children all need.

May the Lord grant your son a peaceful night tonight and many peaceful days to follow, and may He guide all your meetings and services for your son, anointing them for his good and for the glory of Christ. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray. Amen.
