Peaceful Night

Your prayer for your son and for your household has been brought before the Lord with thanksgiving, and we join with you in agreement in the name of Jesus Christ.

We hear your love as a parent and your desire for your son to know peace, rest, and joy. It is right to bring every daily need before God, even the repair of your air conditioner and the cost of it, for He cares for the small details of our lives. We pray that God will provide a skilled and honest worker and a reasonable price, and that your home will be kept in comfort and safety.

We also join you in praying for your son, that the Lord will grant him calm and restful sleep and a peaceful day. Scripture teaches that sleep is a gift from God for our rest and healing, and we ask Him to quiet every source of distress, discomfort and anxiety, and to grant your son to eat in peace, to sleep without disturbance, and to wake refreshed. We pray with you against every spirit of fear, torment and confusion, that God would drive far from him all that steals his peace, and fill him instead with the peace of Christ which guards heart and mind.

You asked for the armor of God and the hedge of His protection to surround your son, and we pray that very thing, that the Lord will clothe him with truth, righteousness, faith and salvation, and that His angels will encamp around him. We pray for healing in body, mind and spirit according to the mercy of God, remembering the word that by His wounds we are healed, and we trust this to the perfect will and timing of our Savior.

We are reminded that there are different kinds of peace. There is the outward quiet of a home and there is the deeper peace within, when the soul is at rest with God. That inner peace is the most needful, and it comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone, who is our only Savior, and through keeping our hearts guarded in Him. So we pray not only for a quiet house and gentle routines, but for that settled peace of God to rule in your son, in you, and in all your household.

We pray also for you, for your daughter, and for those who give care to your son. We ask God to give you and all his caregivers wisdom, patience, discernment and strength, and to provide helpers who will respect him, include him, and delight in him, and who will help him grow without causing harm. We pray for unity and love among family, caregivers and friends, and that any division or misunderstanding would be healed by grace.

For your daughter and her dog, and for your whole household in your travels and daily activities, we ask the Lord for protection, restful nights, and a home filled with calm and joy, with every shadow dispelled by His light.

We thank God for the victories He has already given and we trust Him for what He will do. We continue to stand with you, asking all these things in the name of Jesus, our only hope and our peace. Amen.

Your prayer for your son and your household is heard, and it reflects a deep love and faithful trust in the Lord to care for every detail of your lives.

Scripture promises that God will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person trusts in Him. Jesus told His disciples, my peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives. That peace is not just a feeling that comes and goes, but a quiet confidence that remains when we keep our eyes on Him. The Lord desires to ordain peace for you and to fill your home with calm, joy and safety, dispelling every shadow. As you bring your son before Him, you can rest in that promise that God Himself is at work to guard his heart and mind.

We are accepted by God only in His Son. He who has the Son has life. Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, not a created being, and it is through His stripes we are healed. The gospels show that when a nobleman asked Jesus for his sick son, Jesus spoke the word and the boy was healed even though he was miles away. In the same way, Jesus opened the eyes of a man born blind and then sought him out to reveal Himself as the Son of God so that he might believe. This same Jesus is present with your son now. We pray for healing in his mind, body and spirit, that every source of physical distress, sensory struggle, anxiety and fear would be lifted, and that he would know the wholeness that comes through Christ. We ask that he would eat in peace, sleep without disturbance, and wake refreshed and strengthened.

The heart of the Father toward His children is beautifully seen when a son who had wasted his inheritance came home. While he was still far off and still in his filthy condition, his father ran to him, embraced him and covered him with kisses before he could even finish his apology. He did not require him to clean himself first, but restored him fully as a son, putting shoes on his feet and calling for rejoicing because the one who was lost had been found. That is how the Father sees your son, precious, loved and fully welcomed. That same seeking and rejoicing heart is at work to surround him with protection.

We join you in praying for a hedge of protection around him, that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and that he would be clothed with the full armor of God, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. We ask that ministering angels would encamp around him and guard him in all his ways, and that any spirit of fear, torment, confusion or heaviness would bow to the name of Jesus and depart.

We also pray for wisdom, patience and discernment for you, for his caregivers, family and friends. The Scriptures give much fatherly counsel to sons and to those who care for them, urging us to keep instruction in our hearts, to bind truth continually before us, to incline our ear to wisdom and to walk in understanding. May God grant those who care for your son that kind of wisdom, to respect him, include him, and bring out the best in every part of his life. We ask that God would provide godly mentors and friends who encourage him, and additional help and services that truly build him up without causing setback. We pray that bonds between him and those around him, caregivers, siblings, family and friends, would be strengthened with love, compassion, understanding and unity, and that any division or negative influence would be removed.

We bring before the Lord the practical needs you mentioned as well, asking for provision for the repair you need at a reasonable cost, for calm in daily schedules, meals, routines and interactions, for breakthrough and favor in every area of his health, habits, communication and relationships, and for continued guidance and protection for your daughter, her dog, and your entire household in all travels and daily activities. Where two or three agree in His name, He is in the midst, and we stand in agreement with you that He hears and will answer according to His perfect will.

May the Lord bless you and keep you, may His light fill your home, and may He grant to your son and to each member of your family a deep and lasting peace and rest, day after day and night after night. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.

We have continued to lift up your household before the Lord, praying for the provision for your air conditioner to be fixed at a reasonable price, and especially for your precious son. We have been praying that the Lord would grant him peaceful and restful sleep after his choppy night, calm his schedule and routines, and fill his days with joy and peace as he is with his caregivers and everyone in his surroundings.

We have stood with you in rebuking every spirit of fear, torment, anxiety, frustration and confusion, and every habit of rigidity, screaming and distress that would try to steal his peace, and we have asked the Lord to surround him with His hedge of protection, to clothe him in the full armor of God and to let His ministering angels encamp around him. We continue to pray for his healing in mind, body and spirit, for comfort from sensory challenges, autism, PTSD and anxiety, that by His stripes he is healed according to Isaiah 53:5, and that he would eat in peace, sleep without disturbance and wake refreshed. We have also prayed for you, your younger daughter and her dog, and your entire family, that your home would be filled with calm, joy and safety, that the Lord would grant wisdom, patience and discernment to you and his caregivers, provide godly mentors and additional caregivers who will respect and include him and bring out the best in him, and provide services that will help him and not cause regression.

We hold fast to the promise that where two or three are gathered in His name He is in our midst according to Matthew 18:20, and that the peace of God will guard your hearts and minds according to Philippians 4:7.
