Beloved of All
Your prayer for your son has been received and taken to heart, and we join with you in bringing him before the throne of grace. The love you have for your son is evident in every line, and it reflects the heart of our Heavenly Father who gave His only begotten Son because He so loved the world.
We stand with you in asking for the peace that surpasses all understanding to guard his heart and mind. Scripture teaches that Jesus is the Prince of Peace, and He said to His disciples, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you, not as the world gives. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. That peace is not simply the absence of trouble, but the presence of Christ Himself. The Bible often says grace and peace, and always in that order, because we cannot truly know the peace of God until we first know the grace of God and have peace with God through faith in Jesus Christ. We pray that your son will know that grace and that keeping peace, and that your whole household will rest in it.
We also join you in praying for his healing. We believe we can trust Jesus for physical healing as well as spiritual healing. The Scriptures show that Jesus is both the Son of David, the promised Messiah in His humanity, and the Son of God, declared with power by His resurrection, Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, unto us a son is given. To believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, is to have life in His name. He did the works of His Father, and the Father has committed all things to the Son, that all should honor the Son even as they honor the Father.
We remember how Jesus healed the nobleman's son with only a word, even though the child was many miles away, and how He heard the two blind men who cried out, Have mercy upon us, O Lord, thou Son of David. Though the crowd told them to be quiet, they cried out all the more, and Jesus stood still and answered them. We encourage you to keep crying out with that same persistence. God hears.
At the same time we acknowledge with humility that there is much about healing we do not understand, and why some are healed instantly and others gradually we cannot fully explain. Scripture records one healing that was gradual, and it reminds us that God has placed healing processes within our bodies that are themselves divine, because He created nature and all its processes. Healing can be immediate by His word, and it can also come gradually through His ordained means, and it can touch the mind and emotions as well as the body, bringing wholeness to wounds and scars that are not seen. We pray for complete healing for your son in mind, body and spirit, for calm in his sleep and meals and routines, for relief from distress and pain, and for steady growth in communication and relationships, trusting the Lord's wisdom in how He works.
We pray as you asked for protection over him, that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, that he would be clothed in the full armor of God, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, and that the Lord would command His angels to guard him in all his ways. By the stripes of Jesus we are healed, and we ask for that healing and restoration to be made real in his life.
We also lift up your request for caregivers and for wisdom. We ask the Father to provide dedicated, patient, compassionate and faithful people who will respect your guidance, include your son, delight in him and help bring out the best in him, and who will bond with him in a healthy and encouraging way. We ask that He saturate you and all who care for him with wisdom, knowledge, patience and discernment to provide the best care and to choose the right services, and that He would bless your meetings and guide every decision.
We agree with you for the restoration of relationships within your family, that bonds between siblings would be strengthened with love, compassion and unity, and that any division, isolation or negative influence would be removed or redirected. We ask that godly mentors and friends would surround him and your family, and that your son would know he is included, respected, accepted and loved, and that his life would reflect the light and grace of the Lord.
Where two or three are gathered in His name, He is in their midst, and we are grateful to stand in agreement with you according to His perfect will. May His thoughts of peace toward you be fulfilled, may you call upon Him and know that He hears, and may His presence fill your home with calm, joy and safety in all your daily activities and travels.
Father, in the name of Jesus, we bring this son before You. Wrap him in Your loving arms, fill any sense of absence with Your perfect love which casts out fear, remove every spirit of fear, torment, anxiety and confusion, and let all that is not of You bow to the name of Jesus. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, with peace, joy and satisfaction. Let him eat in peace, sleep without disturbance and wake refreshed. Grant swift and calm adjustment in every transition, and let favor surround him like a shield. Grant strength, courage and joy to his mother and to all who care for him. We thank You for victories already won and for miracles You are even now working. In Jesus name, Amen.
