Thank you for opening your heart and sharing so much love and concern for your son. Your prayer reflects a deep desire for him to know calm, joy and the close presence of God, and it is clear how faithfully you are carrying him before the throne of grace.

The peace you are asking for is found in Jesus Himself. Scripture calls Him the Prince of Peace and says of His kingdom that peace will have no end. He told His disciples, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives. That peace is not just the absence of noise or trouble, but the steady keeping of heart and mind that comes when we know Him. The Bible often puts grace before peace, because we first need peace with God through faith in Jesus Christ, and then we can experience the peace of God guarding us day by day. Jesus is both the Son of David, the promised Messiah who came as a man, and the Son of God, given by the Father because of His great love. To know the Son is to know the Father, and to honor the Son is to honor the Father who sent Him. When your son is held in that love, he is held by the One who has committed all things to the Son so that we might have life in His name.

You also prayed so earnestly for healing and for every source of fear, anxiety and distress to leave and never return. We do believe that Jesus heals, both spiritually and physically. The Scriptures show Him speaking a word and healing the nobleman's son from a distance, and standing still to answer those who cried out, have mercy on us, Son of David, even when others told them to be quiet. They cried out all the more, and He heard them. That encourages us to keep bringing your son to Him with persistent, hopeful prayer.

At the same time there is much about healing we do not fully understand. Sometimes healing comes at once, sometimes it comes gradually, as with the man who at first saw men as trees walking before his sight became clear. And sometimes God works through the natural processes He has built into our bodies and minds, which are still His divine work. We do not always know why some are healed quickly and others walk a longer road, but we can trust the heart of the Father who did not withhold His only Son, whom He loves, but gave Him for us. Abraham's willingness to offer Isaac points to that greater love, and it shows us that God understands a parent's love for a son more deeply than anyone. He sees your love, your weariness and your hope, and His perfect love is able to cast out fear and wrap your son in comfort even in times of transition and change.

You asked for wisdom for yourself and for those who care for him, and that is a prayer God delights to answer. In the Scriptures a father speaks again and again, my son, receive my words, incline your ear to wisdom, keep my commands and you will find length of days and peace. God gave wisdom to Solomon when he asked, and He promises to give wisdom to all who ask Him. Pray that He will saturate you and every caregiver with discernment to know what is best for your son's health, routines, meals, sleep and relationships, and that He will provide helpers who are patient, compassionate, faithful and who truly delight in bringing out the best in him in a gentle and calm way.

Your prayer for protection is also after God's own heart. To be clothed with truth, righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, faith, salvation and the Word of God is to walk in what Christ has already provided. We can ask that the Lord surround your son with His hedge of protection, that no weapon formed against him will prosper, and that ministering angels will guard him in all his ways. We can pray that nothing enters his life except through the blood of Jesus, and that every influence that would bring division, confusion or harm would be removed or redirected, while godly friendships and healthy bonds, especially with his siblings, are restored and strengthened in love and unity.

We join our faith with yours, remembering the promise that where two or three are gathered in His name, He is there among them. We ask the Father in the name of Jesus to fill your home with His presence, to give your son calm in his schedule and activities, peaceful meals and sleep, refreshment when he wakes, and growing confidence and gentleness in communication. We ask for swift and calm adjustment to any change, for breakthrough in every area of daily life, and for your whole household to rest in His joy, strength and favor as you travel and serve.

May the Lord continue to guide your decisions about services and care, anoint each meeting and each caregiver's hands, and let your son be a light that reflects the grace and kindness of Jesus wherever he goes. We thank God for the victories you have already seen and trust Him for the work He is still doing, according to His perfect will, knowing that His mercy and peace come to us from the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
