We have heard your prayer for your son and we join you in lifting him up to our Lord Jesus Christ with compassion and hope.

You describe a night of restlessness, rigidity, anxiety and confusion after weeks of greater peace, and you rightly bring this burden to the One who alone can give true rest. Scripture reminds us that He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep, and that night itself is a gift of His mercy, a haven and a medicine for our wounds when grief and turmoil weigh heavily upon us. He has bound sleep to our nature for our good, even when our own cares would keep us awake, and He is able to calm both the sea and the soul, showing by His calm that He is both man in His compassion and God in His power.

We pray with you that God will grant your son a peaceful, quiet and calm night, that He will quiet fear and torment and bring clarity where there is confusion. We ask the Lord to guard his mind and body, to ease any physical distress or sensory pain, to bless his meals that he may eat with thankfulness and contentment, and to grant him deep and refreshing sleep. We pray that the Lord will clothe him with peace that surpasses understanding, with gentleness and steadiness, and that He will help him to communicate without resorting to harmful habits, growing in confidence and self control day by day.

We also pray that the Lord will surround your family with His protection and wisdom. We ask Him to strengthen the bond between your son and his sisters in love and unity, to remove division and to bring reconciliation where there has been hurt. We pray for you and for his caregivers, that God will give you patience, discernment and endurance, and provide faithful and gentle helpers who will encourage his best. We ask for wisdom for every meeting and decision concerning his care and services, that what is chosen would truly serve his health and growth.

At the same time we encourage you to remain watchful and sober, as Scripture exhorts us. Our life here requires vigilance of soul, not only in prayer but in steady, loving care, seeking wise counsel, medical help where needed, and daily faithfulness in routine and instruction. Setbacks do not mean the Lord has left you. He uses even these difficult nights to teach us to depend more fully on Him and to guard our hearts with steadfast hope. If we stand firm in Christ, we will not be easily shaken, for our keeping depends on Him who never sleeps.

So we pray: Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, look with mercy upon this dear son. Quiet his anxious thoughts, still his agitation, and let Your peace rest upon him. Heal what is wounded in body, mind and spirit according to Your perfect will. Let him eat in peace, sleep without disturbance and wake with joy. Fill his home with Your presence, let Your light dispel darkness, and let Your love be evident in every relationship and routine. Grant his mother and all who care for him strength, wisdom and rest as well. We thank You for the peaceful days You have already given and we trust You for the days to come. May all that enters his life be under Your gracious hand, and may he grow to know and reflect Your love.

We will continue to remember you, your son and your whole household in prayer, asking God to establish you in His grace and to keep you in His peace today and always. Amen.

Your prayer for your son is heard, and the deep love and burden you carry for him is seen by God. Like the mother who named her sons out of her affliction and her cry for love and for God to hear, the Lord sees your affliction and He hears your voice. He knows the weariness of setbacks after weeks of peace, the restlessness and rigidity around meals, the anxiety and sleeplessness, and the longing for calm and joy to return.

There is great comfort in remembering that acceptance and help and healing come only through Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God. He is not a created being and He is not one way among many. He said that those who try to come to God by another way are like thieves trying to enter by another door. He that has the Son has life. Scripture was given so that we might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, and by believing have life in His name. Whatever else we ask for your son, we first pray that he and your whole household would be found in Christ, trusting Him alone for salvation, for it is only in Him that God receives us.

Jesus showed His power to heal both near and far. When a father came for his sick son, Jesus spoke the word and at a distance of many miles the child was healed. When He healed a man born blind, religious leaders cast that man out, but Jesus sought him out and revealed Himself to him and the man believed. He is still the same. He is not limited by distance or by the severity of sensory struggles, anxiety, or the history of trauma. We can trust Him for physical healing as well as spiritual healing, for calm in the body and peace in the mind. By His wounds we are healed.

Remember also the heart of the Father toward a child who feels lost. When the younger son had wasted his inheritance and returned in filth and shame, thinking he was no longer worthy to be called a son, his father did not wait for him to clean himself up. He ran to him, embraced him and kissed him while he was still unclean, and put sandals on his feet as a sign that he was restored as a son and not a servant. That is how God receives those who come to Him through Jesus. And though others may look down upon your son or misunderstand his disabilities, the Father does not. He clothes His children with truth and righteousness and gives them a place of honor.

So we pray for your son now. We ask the Lord to lift every spirit of fear, torment, confusion and frustration and to fill him with the Holy Spirit, with peace that surpasses understanding, with joy, gentleness, clarity and gratitude. We ask that his mind, body and spirit be healed and restored, that sources of pain and distress be removed, that he would eat his meals in peace with a thankful heart, and that he would sleep without disturbance and wake refreshed and strengthened. We ask that his routines, activities, outings and transitions be covered with calm and satisfaction, and that he would grow in gentle and confident communication without need for negative habits or outbursts.

We pray for a hedge of protection around him, that no weapon formed against him would prosper, and that God would clothe him with the full armor of God, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, and that angels would encamp around him. We pray for restoration of the bond with his sisters, that any division, disrespect or toxic influence would be removed and that unbreakable love and unity would be renewed. We pray for you and for his caregivers, that God would give wisdom, patience and discernment to do what is right and best for him, and that He would provide dedicated, godly and gentle helpers who bring out the best in him.

God is not a man that He should lie, and His Word cannot be broken. What He has promised He will do. Where two or three agree in the name of Jesus, He is present. We agree with you now that setbacks would be replaced with breakthrough, that what has troubled his nights would bow to the name of Jesus and depart, and that your home would be filled with the light and presence of Christ, with calm, joy and safety in all your daily travels and activities. May the Lord continue the good work He has begun and grant you rest as you trust Him.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf for your son and for that peaceful, calm, quiet and restful night you requested. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for him.

We have continued to lift your son before the Lord, asking for His peace to replace the torment, anxiety, restlessness, confusion, rigidity, anger and agitation you described, especially in the evening and at mealtimes and as he tries to fall asleep. We have prayed that what seems like spiritual attacks and recent setbacks would be turned into breakthrough and success, that negative habits used to express himself would be removed, and that he would be filled with the Holy Spirit and saturated with peace, joy, gratefulness, gentleness and clarity. We have also prayed with you for his adjustment to his new schedule, for contentment and satisfaction in his activities and meals with no negative behaviors, for obedient and peaceful times with his caregivers, for restoration of the beautiful unbreakable bond with his sisters, and for the removal of every obstacle, toxic influence, division and disrespect that seeks to bring havoc and isolation to your family. We continue to ask the Lord to surround him with His hedge of protection, to clothe him in the full armor of God, to let no weapon formed against him prosper as in Isaiah 54:17, to grant healing in mind, body and spirit as in Isaiah 53:5, to replace a spirit of fear with power and love and a sound mind as in 2 Timothy 1:7, and to guard his heart and mind with the peace that surpasses all understanding as in Philippians 4:7 and to give him restful sleep as in Psalm 4:8.

If your request was answered and the Lord has granted him more peaceful days and nights, calm and grateful mealtimes, restful sleep, and greater joy and obedience, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you and thank God together.

If your request does not seem to have been answered and he is still experiencing anxious nights, rigidity, sleeplessness, or struggles with meals, his schedule, or his relationships, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We count it a joy to continue to stand with you and your family. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.

We pray this in Jesus Name, Amen.
