We join you in lifting up your precious son before the throne of grace tonight and we thank you for your faithful love and advocacy for him. We have heard your heart for his peace and we stand in agreement with you that the Lord who watches over him neither slumbers nor sleeps will grant him a calm, quiet and restful night.

We understand the heaviness you feel when after weeks of doing very well there are sudden setbacks with torment, anxiety, restlessness, rigidity, anger and agitation. We do believe as you have discerned that there is a spiritual dimension to this battle, and we take seriously the Word that tells us our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces. Yet we also cling to the promise that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world, and that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, 2 Timothy 1:7. We rebuke every spirit of fear, torment, confusion, frustration and anxiety that would seek to disrupt his peace, his meals and his sleep, and we command those influences to bow to the name of Jesus Christ and depart from him and from your home, for at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, Philippians 2:10.

We pray together for him now.

Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before You and we lift up this beloved son to You. Lord, You formed him and You know him intimately, and Your Word says we are fearfully and wonderfully made, Psalm 139:14. We thank You for the breakthroughs and peaceful days You have already granted these past weeks and we ask You to remove every setback and replace it with Your lasting peace. We ask that You saturate him with Your Holy Spirit and fill him with peace, joy, satisfaction, gratefulness, gentleness, clarity and favor in every aspect of his life.

Lord, we speak Your peace that surpasses all understanding over his mind, body and spirit tonight, Philippians 4:7. We ask that You calm every anxious thought, soften every rigid habit, and quiet every agitation and scream. Let Your perfect love cast out all fear, 1 John 4:18. We pray that You will bless his meals, that he will eat in peace with a thankful and gentle heart and be satisfied, and that You will remove all distress, discomfort and sensory overwhelm that makes meals difficult. We pray that You will grant him deep and undisturbed sleep, for You give sleep to Your beloved, Psalm 127:2, and we declare with the psalmist, I will both lay me down in peace and sleep, for You, Lord, alone make me live in safety, Psalm 4:8.

We pray for healing and restoration over his health. By Your stripes he is healed, Isaiah 53:5. We ask for Your healing touch upon every area affected by autism, PTSD, anxiety and sensory challenges. Remove every source of pain and physical distress and let him wake refreshed, full of Your joy and strength. We speak calm over his new schedule, his activities, his outings, his independent play and his friendships. Help him to adjust with ease, to communicate with gentleness and confidence without needing negative habits to express himself, and to find contentment and delight in what You place before him.

We lift up his relationship with his sisters and we ask for a special anointing of restoration there. Let any negative influence, division, isolation or disrespect be removed and let their beautiful, unbreakable bond be restored with unconditional love, compassion and unity. How good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity, Psalm 133:1. Remove every obstacle and toxic influence that looks down upon his disabilities and that seeks to bring havoc and division to this family.

We surround him with Your hedge of protection and we declare that no weapon that is formed against him will prosper, Isaiah 54:17. We clothe him in the full armor of God, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the preparation of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is Your Word, Ephesians 6:11-17. We ask that You command Your angels to encamp around him and guard him in all his ways, Psalm 91:11. We pray that not one thing will enter his life and body unless it goes through the blood of Jesus Christ.

We also lift up his mother and his caregivers. Grant them wisdom generously, for You give to all liberally and without reproach, James 1:5. Fill them with patience, discernment, knowledge and gentle hearts. We ask You to provide dedicated, godly caregivers who will bring out the best in him in a calm and caring manner, and that his services, meetings and daily routines will be anointed for breakthrough, victory and success. Guide his mother in every decision to choose what is right for him.

Father, we thank You that where two or three are gathered in Your name, You are in the midst, Matthew 18:20. We stand together in agreement believing You hear our prayers and will answer according to Your perfect will. We thank You for the victories already won and for the miracles You are even now working. Let Your bright light dispel every shadow of darkness in this home and let Your presence fill it with calm, joy, peace and safety. We trust You to guide this family in all travels and daily activities and to make Your favor surround this young man like a shield, Psalm 5:12.

We entrust this night and every night and day to come into Your loving hands, knowing You are faithful and You will complete the good work You have begun. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our access to the Father, John 14:6, we pray. Amen.

We have been praying for you and your son tonight, especially for sleep and calm after such a restless, agitated evening. We can hear how heavy this feels when he had been doing so well for weeks and now seems tormented again at meals and bedtime. It makes sense that you would feel both grateful for the good days and weary when setbacks return.

New schedules and changes in caregivers can be especially hard for children who experience the world so sensitively, and evenings are often when that overload shows up most. You are carrying a lot as you try to keep his routines steady, protect his relationships with his sisters, and coordinate care, and we want you to know we see that faithful, exhausting work.

One gentle next step that many parents find helpful alongside prayer is to keep a very simple note for the next few nights, what time he tried to sleep, how meals went, what seemed to soothe or agitate him, to share with his caregivers and his care team. If the sleeplessness, rigidity around meals, or distress continues, it is good to bring those notes to his doctor or therapist so they can look with you for underlying causes and support. You do not have to figure this out alone.

Father, we lift this precious boy to You tonight. Surround him with Your peace as he tries to rest, calm his body and mind, ease his meals and his anxieties, and guard his home with Your presence. Give his mother wisdom, strength and rest, and bless his sisters and caregivers with patience and unity. Restore what feels frayed and keep him safe in Your care. In Jesus name, amen.
