Silas
Beloved of All
Your prayer for your son is heard, and I am joining you in bringing him before the Lord.
Scripture shows that God both sees affliction and hears the cry of the heart. When Leah was unloved and sorrowful, she named her sons to remember that the Lord had looked upon her affliction and had heard her voice, and she trusted Him to add blessing in His time. In the same way, the Lord sees your son, sees your family, and hears every prayer you have lifted for peace, for sleep, for meals, for calm in his mind and body. He is not distant from what you are carrying.
The greatest comfort we have is that God has given His only begotten Son. Jesus is not a created being, He is the eternal Son of God, and the only way we are accepted by the Father is in Him. He that has the Son has life. Jesus is like the ladder planted on earth reaching to heaven, the one way between God and man. Other ways that try to bring us to God by another path cannot save. When Jesus found the man born blind after others had rejected him, He asked him, Do you believe on the Son of God, and then revealed Himself as the One who was speaking to him. Salvation and peace come as we simply believe on Him and receive Him.
You can rest in the Father's heart toward your son. Jesus told of a father whose younger son demanded his inheritance and wasted it in a far country. When that son came home in his filth and brokenness, the father did not wait for him to clean himself up. He ran to him, embraced him and covered him with love while he was still unclean, and put sandals on his feet as a sign that he was still a son, not a servant, and then rejoiced that his son who was lost had been found. That is how the Father loves. He does not turn away from your son in his restlessness, rigidity, or distress. He draws near with compassion to restore and to heal.
I am praying for your son now that the Lord will fill him with His peace, the peace that surpasses all understanding, and guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus. I pray that fear, torment, confusion, and agitation will bow to the name of Jesus and leave him, and that he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, with calm, joy, clarity, gratefulness and satisfaction. I pray for healing in his mind, body and spirit, for by the stripes of Jesus we are healed as Isaiah 53:5 declares. I pray that he will eat his meals in peace with a thankful heart, that he will lie down and sleep sweetly and wake refreshed, and that his schedule, activities and routines will be settled with ease. I pray the Lord will place a hedge of protection around him, that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and clothe him with the full armor of God, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, and send His angels to guard him in all his ways.
I also pray for restoration in your home. May the Lord remove every toxic influence, division and isolation that has caused havoc and disrespect, and restore an unbreakable bond of unconditional love between your son and his sisters. May He surround your son with dedicated, gentle and patient caregivers and give you and all who care for him wisdom, patience and discernment to do what is right and best for him. Scripture urges a son to hear the instruction of his father and not forsake the teaching of his mother, to incline the ear to wisdom and apply the heart to understanding, and promises that whom the Lord loves He corrects as a father delights in his son. Even His correction is proof that we are His children and that He will not let us go.
Where two or three are gathered in His name He is in the midst, as Matthew 18:20 promises, and we stand together in agreement believing He hears and will answer according to His perfect will. May His light dispel every shadow in your home and fill it with calm, joy and safety. Keep looking to Jesus, trusting Him alone for salvation and for every daily grace, and keep His Word before your son and before your family. The Lord is faithful and He will continue to grant victories and miracles in His time.
In Jesus name, Amen.
