We have received your prayer and we join you in bringing it before the Lord in the name of Jesus Christ.

Your desire for peace and for respect to be shown on both sides is good. Scripture calls peace the mother of all good things and the foundation of joy, and our Lord says, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you. The peacemakers are called the sons of God, because the Son of God came to reconcile us to the Father and to set at peace the things in heaven and on earth through the blood of his cross.

We pray with you now. Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus we lift up this workplace situation to you. Calm every troubled heart and quiet anger. Grant wisdom and grace for the conversation when your child returns, and remove animosity on every side. Help both employer and employee to speak and to listen with gentleness and respect, without wrath or harshness, and to let your peace rule in their hearts as an umpire between revenge and endurance. Where there has been tension, bring reconciliation. Where respect is needed, teach each one to honor the other. Let your peace, which is steadfast because it comes from you and not from man, guard hearts and minds. We ask that you provide for every need and guide every decision about work and time, and that you would be glorified in how this matter is resolved. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Continue to follow peace with all men as far as it depends on you. When two thoughts wrestle within, one urging to repay and the other urging to endure with patience, let the peace of God have the prize. Keep showing respect as you have, speak truth with gentleness, and commit the outcome to the Lord who sees and who is our true peace. He is faithful to keep those who cling to him, both to give peace at first and to keep us in it.
