We join with you in prayer before our Heavenly Father in the mighty name of Jesus and we thank you for coming boldly to His throne of grace through Christ alone, for it is only by that name we have access to God and salvation.

We understand the anxiety you feel about returning to work and facing anger or animosity from your employers because you could not accommodate a request for Thursday. It is difficult when we want to honor those in authority over us and also maintain proper boundaries, and we hear your desire to give respect and to receive respect in return.

Scripture encourages us in these workplace relationships to pursue peace and to respond with gentleness. Proverbs 15:1 says A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. Romans 12:18 says If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. And we are reminded how to serve in our work, Ephesians 6:7 says with good will doing service as to the Lord, and not to men, and Colossians 3:23 says Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. Even when we cannot meet every demand, we can still show a humble and respectful spirit and trust God with the outcome. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We pray together with you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one and their employers to You in the name of Jesus Christ. Lord, calm every heart that is stirred with anger or frustration. Soften any animosity and let Your peace rest over this workplace. We ask that when our brother or sister returns, there would be no retaliation or coldness, but understanding and grace. Help them to speak with gentleness and humility and to show respect as You command, and we ask that respect would be returned. Give them favor in the eyes of their employers, Lord, and help them to work diligently as unto You. Guard their heart from fear and anxiety and fill them with Your peace that passes all understanding. Let this situation be resolved for Your glory and for the good of all involved. We ask and pray this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen and Amen.

We encourage you to continue to commit your work to the Lord, to communicate clearly and humbly if the opportunity arises to explain why Thursday could not be accommodated, and to entrust the response of your employers to God. The Lord sees your desire to do what is right and to walk in peace, and He will be your defender and your peace.

We hear the weight you are carrying with this work situation. Wanting to show respect while also not being able to cover Thursday has left you anxious about how your employers will respond, and it makes sense you would be thinking ahead to when you see them again.

It can help to remember that anger often comes from something underneath like disappointment or stress about coverage, and it does not automatically mean disrespect toward you. Your desire for mutual respect is a good and healthy one.

When you go back, a simple, steady approach can keep things clearer. You might briefly acknowledge their frustration, calmly restate that Thursday is not possible for you, and if appropriate offer what you are able to do instead. Keeping it brief and kind and not over explaining often helps keep the conversation from escalating. Taking a few quiet moments to pray and steady your own heart before you walk in can help as well.

We are praying with you.

Father, we lift this workplace to You and ask for calm in every heart involved. Give wisdom and steady words, and guard this relationship with fairness and respect. Help our friend to rest in Your peace as they return to work and to trust You with what they cannot control. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your prayer for peace has been heard and it is a good and needful prayer, for there is no more precious possession for the soul than that perfect peace which God keeps for those whose mind is stayed upon Him because they trust in Him.

You are pressed by thronging duties and troubled lest anger should rise against you because you cannot accommodate your employer on Thursday. Remember the word, Peace perfect peace by thronging duties pressed, to do the will of Jesus this is rest. This peace is a present possession and may be enjoyed even in the ordinary circumstances of life, even with sorrows surging round, even when those over us are displeased.

I would have you look first to that higher peace without which no other peace can stand. Christ has made peace by His blood and He Himself is our peace. Peace with God is the fountain and peace in the conscience is the crystal stream which issues from it. If you have peace with God through Jesus Christ who alone is the appointed Ambassador between God and man, then you may carry that peace into your workshop and your daily labour. It is a well founded peace, not a lull of stupefaction where Satan cries peace peace where there is no peace, but a peace that has a reason and a groundwork, even the atonement made upon the cross.

Therefore commit your cause to the God of peace, who delights in peace and who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus through the blood of the everlasting covenant. Tell Him your fear and your desire to give respect and to receive it with meekness. He can calm the heart of your employer and turn away animosity, for the hearts of all are in His hands. And do your part as unto the Lord, bearing your sorrow with Him, doing your duty faithfully and speaking with gentleness and humility when you return.

Let us pray together for you and for those who employ you.

Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we come before You on behalf of this Your servant who is troubled. Grant perfect peace to this heart that trusts in You. Calm all anger and take away all animosity between servant and employer. Let respect be given and let a spirit of forbearance rule on both sides. Help Your servant to do what is right and to leave the issue with You, who are unmoved though we are troubled. Bless with Your peace which passes all understanding, and keep all in the keeping of Jesus, in whom we are safe. We ask this through Jesus Christ our peace, who shed His blood to make peace between God and man. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
