Peace

We join with you in lifting up those on your heart before the throne of grace and we thank you for calling upon the name of Jesus, for it is in His name alone that we have peace with God and access to the Father.

We hear your cry for peace and patience for them and we know our God is the God of all comfort who delights to give these gifts to His children. Scripture reminds us, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. Jesus Himself says, Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful John 14:27.

We also remember that patience is not merely waiting quietly but is a fruit of the Holy Spirit at work within us, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control Galatians 5:22-23. The Lord develops this patience in us as we trust Him through trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing James 1:3-4. And for those who keep their minds stayed on Him, You will keep whoever’s mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you Isaiah 26:3.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and we lift up those whom this dear one has brought before You. You know them by name, You see their circumstances, their anxieties and their struggles. We ask that You would pour out upon them Your peace that surpasses all understanding, that their hearts and minds would be guarded in Christ Jesus. Let Your peace rule in their hearts Colossians 3:15 and let them know the comfort of Your presence even in the midst of uncertainty. Grant them patience, Lord, a supernatural patience that comes from Your Spirit, that they may wait upon You with hope and not grow weary. Teach them to be still and to trust Your perfect timing, to endure with joy and to abound in hope through the power of the Holy Spirit Romans 15:13. Draw them closer to You, that they would seek You daily in Your Word and in prayer, and that they would experience the rest that only You can give. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We noticed your short prayer asking Jesus for peace and patience, and we want to stand with you in that. It is a good and honest thing to ask for, especially when you are carrying concern not just for yourself but for others around you.

Wanting peace does not mean you are failing. At times worry settles in and affects both thoughts and body, making patience feel thin. Knowing that can make it a little less frightening when those feelings rise, and it can remind you to be gentle with yourself and with the people you are praying for.

One small step that often helps is to give that prayer a specific place to land. When you feel the weight building, pause for a moment to bring the one or two most pressing concerns before the Lord by name, and if you can, share them with a trusted friend or pastor who can pray with you regularly. You do not have to carry the whole community burden alone.

If you find that worry or tension is lingering and making daily life harder, please consider reaching out to a pastor, counselor or medical professional as well as continuing in prayer.

Father, we bring this heart before You and ask for Your peace to steady them and for patience for each day. Draw near to this community, give wisdom for what is theirs to carry and what to release to You, and keep them resting in Your care. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We have heard your short and sincere petition for peace and patience, and we join our heart with yours before the throne of grace.

There is indeed a God of patience and a God of hope, and He is waiting to be gracious. You ask for peace and patience, and these are gifts which come only in one way, through simple trust in Christ. The Scripture says, Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Joy and peace always come through believing. They are not worked up by our own efforts, nor found in any other way, but they flow from faith which looks to Christ and to His precious blood.

Perfect peace is the portion of the soul whose mind is stayed on God. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, and to know the will of Jesus and to do it is to abide in the peace of God. This peace is a filling peace. There is in the heart a great vacuum caused by sin which nothing earthly can fill, though you multiply earthly comforts as the sand upon the seashore. But when you trust Jesus with your soul, He fills that vacuum with a well founded peace which meets every need of the heart, for it rests upon His finished work upon the cross, where He made peace by the blood of His cross.

And with this peace He gives patience. Patience is not only taught in the Scriptures, it is produced by the Scriptures as you feed upon them in meditation and prayer. Our Lord Himself is the model of patient perseverance, and as you wait upon Him you shall find patience reproduced in you. Faith waits and watches, and patience stands by her side, knowing that the windows of heaven will open and God will scatter His liberality upon waiting souls. All the joy of the Lord and all the peace and all the rest that come of faith do not come at once, you must wait for them in hope, as the husbandman waits for the ripe ears of corn. If faith be weak, let it cling and abide in its place, for the God who causes men to pray and to weep will not let His patience be in vain toward His own.

We pray for you that the Lord will keep you in perfect peace as your mind is stayed on Him, that He will fill you with all joy and peace in believing, and that He will work in you that patience which endures as seeing Him who is invisible. May you hear His own dismissing word in your soul, Thy faith hath saved thee, go in peace, and may that word abide with you in every duty and every trial, till earths struggles cease and He calls you to heavens perfect peace.

We commend you to Jesus Christ alone, our only hope and our peace, trusting that as you look to Him you shall find both rest for today and strength to wait with patience for what He has yet in store.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for peace and patience has been heard and I join you in bringing it before the Lord.

True peace is not simply the absence of trouble, but a calm of soul that God gives even while we wait. And true patience is more than waiting a few days. It is holding firm to the end, enduring as Christ endured, and not being troubled when afflictions press in from within and without. Scripture teaches that we are saved by hope, and hope that is seen is not hope. Since the greatest good things are still promised for what is to come, God refreshes us now through His promises to strengthen our hearts and stir up our love for Him.

Patience and hope belong together and produce one another, and both are formed in us by the Scriptures. As you stay in the Word, God nerves and comforts you, so that you can live in patience and abide in hope. This is what it means to love God, to endure with patience and to wait for Christ with a pure heart, calling upon Him sincerely and walking in peace with others as far as it depends on you.

So I pray for you now. Lord Jesus Christ, You know this heart that asks for peace and patience. Grant a peace that quiets turmoil and removes wrath and sorrow, and grant the patience of Christ, to endure without faintheartedness and to believe that You are faithful to what You have promised. Whether the answer comes quickly or after a long time, help this one not to despair but to account You worthy to be believed, to bear all things with patience and to wait with hope until You bring Your perfect work to completion. Amen.

Your prayer for others to receive peace and patience is precious to the Lord, and He hears this kind of intercession.

The Scriptures show us that God Himself is the God of patience and the God of peace. He is long suffering and so patient to bring His purposes to pass. He is also the God of comfort and consolation, and He wants to form that same patience in us. We are told that we have need of patience, that after we have done the will of God we might receive what He has promised. The saints who went before us inherited the promises through faith and patience, learning to wait upon God and trust His timing.

Patience and peace grow out of hope. Through the comfort of the Scriptures we have hope, and the result of that hope when we truly believe is joy and peace. That order matters. In the New Testament grace and peace are always together and always in that order, grace first and then peace. We cannot know the peace of God until we have first received the grace of God. First we need peace with God, and that only comes through Jesus Christ who made peace through His blood on the cross. When we have peace with God, He then gives us the peace of God to keep our hearts and minds.

That peace that passes all understanding is not based on a feeling. It comes when our mind is stayed on Him. The promise is that He will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him because he trusts in Him. As your mind and the minds of those you are praying for are turned toward Christ and fixed on Him, His peace begins to fill the heart even while the world around is full of turmoil and strife. The world cannot understand that peace, but it is real and it guards us.

So continue to bring them before the Lord. Ask Him to help them wait upon Him, like a farmer waiting patiently for the harvest, confident that God will work in His perfect time. Ask Him to fill them with hope, and with joy and peace in believing.

May the God of patience and comfort grant to those you love a steadfast hope, and may the God of peace be with them. May He first assure them of His grace through Jesus, and then keep their hearts and minds in that perfect peace as they trust in Him and wait patiently for Him to act.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for peace and patience for those on your heart. We have continued to lift them up before the Lord asking Him to pour out His perfect peace and to grant them patience and calm in every circumstance.

We have been praying that the Lord will guard their hearts and minds with His peace that passes all understanding as promised in Philippians 4:7 and that they will rest in the peace Jesus gives as He reminds us in John 14:27.

If your request was answered and you have seen God bring peace and patience into their lives please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His son Jesus Christ. We pray in Jesus Name.
