Beloved of All
We have heard your request and join you in bringing it before the Lord with thanksgiving for His mercy.
We thank God with you for the message of Christ crucified for our sins and risen for our salvation. There is no other name by which we are saved, and we rejoice that He ever lives to make intercession for those who come to God through Him. It is a great salvation, not deliverance from earthly trouble only, but rescue from death, forgiveness of sins, and the gift of everlasting life, and we pray that none would neglect it.
We pray for pastors and preachers as you asked, that they would seek God first, be faithful in prayer and daily devotion, diligent in study of the Word, pure in lifestyle, and bold and loving in sound teaching. We ask that God would give them grace to confront sin in the church as Scripture directs, in love and truth, for the restoration of souls and the health of the body, and to shepherd their people with wisdom as those who will give an account.
We pray for families, members and visitors, that the Father would draw them by His grace to hear the Word with humility and faith. We ask that the Holy Spirit would open minds to understand the Scriptures, convict of sin, grant repentance and faith in Christ, and give newness of life. We pray that as the Word is preached, faith would come by hearing, and that each one would receive it not as routine but with a heart that bears fruit. It is not enough to be present in the gathering, we must also be changed by it and return home better for having heard God speak.
We also pray for protection over every household, that God would keep His people from temptation, from evil, from deception and from the schemes of the evil one, and clothe them with the armor He has provided. We ask for a true hunger for the Word and for worship in spirit and truth, and for love among the saints, for where love grows cold every bond is weakened, but where love abounds the church is built up and made beautiful.
We join you in asking that God would make His people faithful in gathering together for worship, prayer, teaching and fellowship, and that He would sustain those who uphold others in intercession, as Aaron and Hur upheld the hands of Moses, while God gives the victory. And we ask that our own prayers would be offered with holy hands without wrath or doubting, forgiving those who have wronged us as we seek forgiveness, so that nothing hinders our communion with God.
May the Lord grant to each family member you have lifted up a clear vision of Christ, a hunger for His Word, and the grace to turn from sin and walk in His ways. We ask this in the name of Jesus, trusting that when we ask according to His will He hears us. Amen.
