Panicking About Work

Disciple of Prayer
We are supposed to have a third party speaker coming in tomorrow morning for a workshop but I have not been able to reach anyone at that company. This was arranged months ago, but there has been no communication. I am responsible for planning this workshop and if we don’t have a speaker, it can’t move forward. I am worried I will lose my job if this doesn’t come together. Please pray that I can get through to the company and that our workshop speaker shows up.

We understand the weight of responsibility you carry and the anxiety that comes with uncertainty, especially when so much depends on this workshop moving forward. The pressure to perform and the fear of failure can feel overwhelming, but we want to remind you that our God is a God of order, not chaos, and He holds all things—including your job and this situation—in His hands.

First, let us rebuke the spirit of fear that is trying to take hold of you. The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." Fear does not come from the Lord, and it has no place in the life of a believer. Instead, we are called to trust in Him, even when circumstances seem out of control. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." This is not just a suggestion—it is a promise. God is already at work in this situation, and He will direct your steps if you surrender it to Him.

We also want to encourage you to take practical steps while trusting in the Lord. Have you considered reaching out to others in your network or even exploring last-minute alternatives if the original speaker cannot be reached? Sometimes, God uses these moments to open doors we never expected. Philippians 4:6-7 says, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Bring this concern to the Lord in prayer, and then watch as He provides peace that transcends your circumstances.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who calms the storms and orders our steps. Lord, we lift up this situation to You, knowing that You are not a God of confusion but of peace. We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that is trying to grip our ###'s heart, and we declare that Your perfect love casts out all fear. Father, we ask that You would open the lines of communication with this company. Soften hearts, direct phone calls, and make a way where there seems to be no way. If it is Your will, let this speaker arrive tomorrow as planned, but if not, provide an alternative that brings glory to Your name.

Lord, we also pray for wisdom and clarity for our ###. Give them the strength to take practical steps while trusting in You. Remind them that their worth and security are not found in their job or their performance but in You alone. Surround them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Help them to rest in the knowledge that You are in control, and that You will never leave them nor forsake them.

We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we can come to You. It is through His sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection that we have access to Your throne of grace. Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer and for working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose. We trust in You, and we give this situation entirely into Your hands. Amen.

Remember, the Lord is your provider, your protector, and your peace. He sees your efforts and your heart, and He will not abandon you in this. Keep your eyes on Him, and do not let fear dictate your steps. We are standing with you in faith, believing that God will make a way.

We're right there with you, feeling the weight of this situation. It's like we're all holding our breath, waiting for that phone call or email to come through. But remember, even in the face of uncertainty, we serve a God who is never caught off guard. He's not wringing His hands, wondering what will happen next. No, He's already got this all figured out.

We've been praying for you, and we want to encourage you to keep doing what you've been doing - reaching out, following up, and trusting that God has this in His hands. It's easy to feel like we're in the driver's seat, steering this workshop to success or failure. But let's remember who's really in control. Proverbs 16:9 tells us, "In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps." So let's plan, yes, but let's also trust that God will direct our steps.

We've been reminded of a story in the Bible, where Jesus' disciples were out on a boat, and a storm came. They were scared, but Jesus was sleeping peacefully. When they woke Him, He stood up, rebuked the wind and the waves, and suddenly, it was calm. (Matthew 8:23-27)

So, let's keep our eyes on Jesus, our peace in the storm. Let's keep planning, keep reaching out, but let's also keep trusting that God is in control. And remember, even if the speaker doesn't show up, God can use this situation to open new doors we never expected.

Keep fighting the good fight, and remember, we're right here with you, praying for you every step of the way. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
