Pain doesn't belong in my body. It doesn't make any sense.

Godispowerful

Servant of All
I don't know what is going on inside the right side to cause the pain, but I don't know where the pain comes from. It doesn't make any sense. The pain doesn't belong inside my body.

We hear your cry of distress, and our hearts ache with you in this time of physical suffering. Pain is a heavy burden to bear, especially when its source is unknown and its purpose unclear. We want you to know that you are not alone, God sees your struggle, collects your tears, and holds your pain in His hands. The Bible tells us, "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). Even when pain feels senseless, God is not absent. He is working in ways we may not yet understand.

We rebuke this affliction in the name of Jesus Christ, the Great Physician, who healed the sick, cast out infirmities, and bore our sorrows on the cross. "Surely he has borne our sickness, and carried our suffering; yet we considered him plagued, struck by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed" (Isaiah 53:4-5). We declare healing over your body, trusting that God’s will is for wholeness and restoration.

We also want to gently encourage you to seek wise medical counsel if you haven’t already. God often works through the hands of doctors, nurses, and modern medicine to bring relief and answers. Proverbs 15:22 says, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." Do not hesitate to reach out to professionals who can help diagnose and treat what you’re experiencing.

Most importantly, we want to remind you of the hope we have in Christ. If you have not placed your trust in Him, we urge you to consider doing so now. Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). He is the only way to the Father, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Salvation comes through believing in Him, confessing Him as Lord, and turning from sin to follow Him. If you have not made this decision, we pray you would do so today, for eternal life and peace with God are found in no other.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is enduring this unexplained pain. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who heals, and the God who comforts. We ask You to reveal the source of this pain, to guide the hands of medical professionals, and to bring clarity and relief. Touch their body with Your healing power, Lord. Where there is inflammation, bring soothing; where there is dysfunction, bring restoration; where there is fear, bring Your perfect peace.

We rebuke this pain in the mighty name of Jesus, declaring that by His stripes, healing is ours. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to trust in Your goodness even when the path is unclear. Surround them with Your presence, reminding them that You are near to the brokenhearted. If there is any unconfessed sin or unforgiveness in their life, reveal it to them, Lord, so they may experience the fullness of Your grace and mercy.

We also pray for their spiritual well-being. If they do not yet know You as Savior, draw them to Yourself, Lord. Let them experience the love and peace that only comes through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Help them to cast all their cares upon You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7).

We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for the promise that all things work together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). We trust You to bring purpose out of this pain, whether through healing, endurance, or a deeper reliance on You. In Jesus’ precious name we pray, Amen.

Hold fast to hope, dear one. God has not abandoned you. Cling to His promises, seek His face, and trust that He is working even in the midst of this trial. "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed" (2 Corinthians 4:8-9). You are not forsaken. We stand with you in faith, believing for your breakthrough.

We hear the frustration beneath your words, the weariness of pain that has no name or clear source. It is deeply unsettling when our own bodies feel like strangers to us, when something is wrong but refuses to be explained. That confusion alone is its own kind of suffering, and we are sorry you are walking through it.

You are right that pain does not belong there. It is an intruder. God did not design your body to house suffering, and your instinct that this does not make sense is not a lack of faith, it is a truthful echo of a creation that was meant to work differently. We do not always get answers on this side of heaven for why our bodies malfunction, but we can hold onto who God is even when the "why" remains dark.

Since the pain is unexplained and persistent, we would gently ask: have you seen a doctor about this? Sometimes the most spiritual thing we can do is let someone with medical training investigate. It is not a lack of trust to seek understanding; it is stewarding the body God gave you. That would be a concrete next step we would encourage you to take, even while we continue to pray.

As you wait for clarity, you do not wait alone. We are praying with you.

Lord Jesus, you know exactly where this pain comes from and why it lingers. We ask you to bring relief, to quiet whatever is inflamed or strained, and to give wisdom to doctors if that is the path ahead. More than anything, would you calm the deep disorientation this person feels. Let your presence be steadier than the pain, your peace deeper than the confusion. We trust you to sustain this dear person, and we ask for a clear path forward. In your name, amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect, heal and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

Pain is a strange and unwelcome guest, yet it often proves life where we least expect it. If one said, "I know I am alive because I feel so well," I should reply, "And I sometimes know that I am alive because I feel so ill." The ache that troubles your right side, mysterious as it seems, bears witness that you are still in the body, still breathing the air of this world, and still held within the purposes of God. The very confusion you feel, that this pain does not belong, may be the inner warfare of a soul alive unto God, where faith and unbelief contend. There would be no such conflict if you were not on the Lord's side.

Consider that the right hand of Christ, once pierced, now holds all things. The same hand that upholds the stars and sustains His ministers also governs the frame of every believer. That pain, though it baffles you, is not outside His grasp. He knows its source and its end. And while adversaries lurk and the body groans, the pillar of His love stands fast on the other side, bright and sparkling to the eye. Do not fret over steps that were innocent and wise, blaming yourself for what you cannot understand. If you have sought medicines, seek also the blessing of God upon them, for men are not healed by medicine only. The Lord can give you spiritual health even under the most trying influences.

The least thing about Christ is healing. The very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. Not only His great atoning work, but the hem of His garment, the touch of His hand, the whisper of His Word, all carry virtue. Your pain may be the very door through which healing enters, for pardon and restoration are placed in happy conjunction. When Jesus healed the palsied man, He first said, "Your sins are forgiven you." Welcome, then, this strange companion, if it drives you closer to the Physician at the right hand of God. Cry out to Him who gives the Holy Spirit to those who ask, for with the Spirit comes every good thing, comfort in bewilderment, light in darkness, and, in His time, healing in His wings.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Pain does seem an intruder, a foreign thing that has no rightful place in the body. That very sense of wrongness is a shadow of the truth: we were not made for corruption. There is a country where pain, sorrow, and sighing truly have fled away, where all is peace and joy and light, where there is no death of body or soul. That is our proper home, and the groaning you feel now is the soul's protest that we are not there yet.

But while we journey, the Master Physician permits what He could remove. Consider that Jesus Himself suffered outside the gate, bearing reproach, and He calls us to go out to Him there. The pain that afflicts your right side, however senseless it appears, is not a mark of His absence. It is a place of communion with His sufferings. We do not seek pain, but when it comes unbidden, we are not to be stunned or shaken as though some strange thing were happening. Long-suffering makes the soul impenetrable, like a spark falling into the deep. The spark vanishes, but the deep is not disturbed.

The very fact that you cannot trace the pain's source may be a mercy hidden in severity. If we saw all the causes of our trials, we might grow proud or fearful. Instead, the uncertainty drives us to lean harder upon God, to seek that peace which is the bond of all good things. The devil has no weapon so strong as fighting and enmity, including enmity against our own frail flesh. Accepting the pain without rage, without demanding an explanation, disarms that foe. It is not stupid indifference, but a quiet trust that He who notes every sparrow works even this for our amendment.

Do not despise this season as wasted. In profound peace, soldiers still go out daily to practice the exercises of war, though no enemy disturbs them. Pain is the drill ground of patience. What is light and momentary, if endured with thanksgiving, stores up an eternal weight of glory. Let this trial brace up your soul rather than casting it down. Ask for the angel of peace, and seek that inward calm which makes every burden light.

God often delays full relief, as He did with Thomas and the woman of Canaan, to inflame a more eager desire and to strengthen faith for the future. He who sent Epaphroditus with all diligence to relieve the heaviness of his friends knows when to send help to you. He sees your endurance, and He will not leave you always in the furnace. The pain does not ultimately belong in your body; the day comes when it will be utterly cast out, and you will run without weariness in that land where all is day and all is light. Until then, bear it as Christ bore His cross, not as a citizen of this world, but as one whose true citizenship is elsewhere. Peace be with you.

Pain has a way of invading life and refusing to make sense, especially when it settles in your body without explanation. That ache on your right side, the one that seems to have no clear cause, can leave you feeling exposed and confused. In Scripture, the right side was often the most vulnerable side because a warrior held his shield on the left, leaving the right open to attack. Yet the psalmist tells us that the Lord Himself is our shade on our right hand, our keeper who shelters the place we cannot protect on our own. He doesn’t always remove the pain immediately, but He stands guard in that very spot.

The world around us runs on the idea that everyone does what is right in their own eyes, which only breeds more confusion. When you can’t trace the reason for your suffering, you might be tempted to draw wrong conclusions, just as Job did when he thought living right meant nothing. Righteous people get sick. Good people hurt. We don’t always know why. But pain is not a sign that God has abandoned you or that you’ve done something wrong. It’s part of living in a broken creation, and your body itself groans for the redemption that is coming.

Think of the agony Jesus endured on the cross, with a malefactor on His right and another on His left. He refused anything to dull the excruciating pain, choosing to enter fully into our suffering. In that moment, even as the nails were driven in, He prayed for forgiveness. His pain had a purpose far beyond what anyone could see. And when He said, “Let us pass over to the other side,” He was not offering a maybe. Even though a storm came, His word could not fail. They had to reach the other shore because He had spoken it. Your current trial is not the final word; He is taking you through, not under.

Your feeling that pain doesn’t belong inside your body is itself a witness to the truth. It points to a world where things are not yet set right, but also to a redeemer who holds the right to buy back everything that was lost. He is the one with the title deed to the earth, and He will make all things new. Until then, you don’t need to figure out every cause. Let His presence be your guide in the confusion. Worship Him alone, not the relief you long for. Keep your priorities fixed on Him, and when the pressure weighs heavy, remember that He is on your side. If it had not been the Lord who was on our side when pain rises up against us, we would be swallowed up quickly. But He has preserved you thus far, and He will continue to be your shield.

I don't know how to cause pain or hurt on the left side of the head. The pain or hurt doesn't deserve to be in my head or my body.
