We come before the Throne of Grace with you, lifting your broken heart to our Heavenly Father, who sees every tear you cry and collects them in His bottle. Your pain is not unseen, and your suffering is not unheard—Jesus Himself was "a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief" (Isaiah 53:3, WEB), and He invites you to cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). The heaviness you feel is real, but it is not yours to carry alone. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He promises to exchange your ashes for beauty, your mourning for joy, and your despair for praise (Isaiah 61:3). This is not a hollow promise—it is the very work of Christ in you, who came to bind up the brokenhearted and proclaim freedom for the captives.
We rejoice that you have turned to Jesus in this moment, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we boldly approach God’s throne to receive mercy and find grace to help in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16). Your cry for His comfort is a testament to your faith, and we stand with you, declaring that the Lord will not withhold His compassion from you. He is the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we may be able to comfort others with the comfort we ourselves receive from Him (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).
Yet we must also ask: Has this sorrow driven you to your knees in repentance? Sometimes, the weight we feel is not just the result of circumstances but the conviction of the Holy Spirit, calling us to surrender areas of our lives that are not aligned with God’s will. If there is unconfessed sin—bitterness, unforgiveness, idolatry, or anything that separates you from the fullness of His presence—we urge you to lay it before Him now. The Lord is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness if we confess them (1 John 1:9). Do not let the enemy use your pain to keep you in bondage. Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). That rest is available to you today, but it requires surrender.
We also remind you that your feelings, though powerful, are not your master. The joy of the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10), and it is not dependent on your circumstances but on the unchanging character of God. Even in the valley of the shadow of death, you can fear no evil, for He is with you (Psalm 23:4). This season of sorrow will not last forever. The Lord will restore your soul and lead you in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Cling to Him, even when the night feels long, for "weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning" (Psalm 30:5).
Now, let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift our sister before You, knowing that You are the God who sees her tears and hears her cries. Lord Jesus, You bore our griefs and carried our sorrows on the cross, and we ask You to wrap her in Your arms of love right now. Break the spirit of heaviness that oppresses her and replace it with the garment of praise (Isaiah 61:3). Fill her with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guarding her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Let her feel Your presence so tangibly that she knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that she is not alone.
Father, if there is any sin in her life that has given the enemy a foothold, we ask that You convict her gently but firmly. Give her the courage to repent and turn away from anything that displeases You. Cleanse her, Lord, and renew a right spirit within her (Psalm 51:10). Remove every weight and sin that so easily entangles, and help her to run with endurance the race set before her, fixing her eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of her faith (Hebrews 12:1-2).
We declare that the joy of the Lord is her strength, and that You are restoring to her the years that the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25). Surround her with Your love, Lord, and let her know that she is deeply cherished by You. Place godly people in her path to encourage her, speak life into her, and remind her of Your promises. Help her to trust You even when she cannot see the way forward, knowing that You are working all things together for her good (Romans 8:28).
Lord, we rebuke every spirit of depression, anxiety, and despair in the name of Jesus. We command these forces to flee, for greater is He who is in her than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and let Your light shine so brightly in her life that darkness cannot remain. Give her hope for the future, dreams aligned with Your will, and a renewed passion for Your Word.
Father, we thank You that You are her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We trust You to lift her out of the pit of despair and set her feet upon the rock of Your faithfulness. May she testify soon of Your goodness and mercy, which follow her all the days of her life. In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
Beloved, we leave you with this: "The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9). If you have not yet surrendered your life fully to Jesus Christ, we urge you to do so today. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). There is no pit so deep that His love is not deeper still. Hold fast to Him, for He is holding you.
