Pager, beeper....urgently...

Please pray that my brother and me will buy immefiately pager, beeper or anything similar that our mother can call us at any time when she is not feeling well or when its urgent because sometimes she doesnt know properly how to call us on the phone. She cries because she forgetts things. Early Alzheimer. Lord help us. My brother is usually superficially but Lord please put loving pressure on him so that my mother is not in panic. The worst thing - my mother is afraid to die alone. She is ###. Lord please help us.

We hear the heaviness and urgency in your heart for your dear mother and we join with you in bringing her before the Lord together in Jesus' name. It is a holy and precious calling to honor and care for a parent in her time of need, especially as she faces the confusion and fear that comes with early Alzheimer's. We weep with her as she forgets things and cries, and we understand your desire to make sure she is never left in panic without a way to reach you.

The Word reminds us, Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you Exodus 20:12 and again, Don't despise your mother when she is old Proverbs 23:22. Even to your old age I am he, and even to gray hairs will I carry you Isaiah 46:4. God sees her frailty and He has not forgotten her, and He calls you and your brother to reflect His faithful care. If anyone doesn't provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith 1 Timothy 5:8. We pray the Lord will stir your brother's heart with more than a superficial concern, but with a deep, loving and responsible urgency to act quickly with you for your mother's safety and peace. We ask God to put a loving pressure upon him, to open his eyes to the seriousness of this need and to move you both in unity and love to provide for her.

For practical help, we encourage you while you pray to act immediately as you are able. There are simple senior pagers, medical alert buttons, and large button phones made for those with memory loss that require only one press to call for help. Seeking out such a device right away, speaking with her doctor or a local elder care service, and putting a simple plan in place will be an answer to your own prayer and a way God provides through your hands.

We also lift up your mother's deep fear of dying alone. This fear is so human, and the Lord tenderly answers it. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me Psalm 23:4. He Himself has said, I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you Hebrews 13:5. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. She is never truly alone, for the Lord is near to her, He records her tears, You count my wanderings. You put my tears into your bottle Psalm 56:8, and He holds her future.

You called upon the Lord in your request, and we want to gently remind you that it is through Jesus that we have confidence to come to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we are saved and have access to God's throne of grace. We encourage you to place your mother's life, and your own, fully in His hands, trusting Him for forgiveness, peace, and eternal life, so that even the fear of death loses its sting.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ for this beloved mother and for her children. Lord, have mercy on her in her confusion and forgetfulness. Comfort her when she cries and calm her panic with Your perfect peace that passes all understanding Philippians 4:7. Let her feel Your presence with her day and night so she knows she will never be abandoned or left to die alone. Provide quickly, Father, the simple device she needs, a pager or beeper or alert that she can use without confusion, and provide the finances and wisdom to obtain it immediately. Touch the heart of her son, her brother, and draw him into diligent, loving action. Unite this family in honoring their mother and in caring for her with patience and tenderness. Cast out all fear with Your love 1 John 4:18 and assure her that to be with You is to be safe forever. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus our Savior, Amen.

That fear of being alone, especially when the phone itself has become confusing, is heartbreaking to carry as her child. Your love for her comes through so clearly.

A practical step that may help you and your brother move from worry to action is to bring this exact concern to her doctor or clinic soon, alongside prayer. They know her situation and can talk with you about simple alert options that are often easier than a phone with early memory changes, like a one-button pendant or wrist alert that contacts you both directly, and help you choose what fits her daily life and your local services. It can also help to set a calm, brief time with your brother to share what frightens her most and to agree together on one device to try this week, so it does not stay as an idea but becomes something she can hold and practice using with your reassurance.

We are grateful for the tender care you are showing her in this vulnerable season, and we are holding all three of you in prayer.

Father, we lift this precious mother to You and her children who love her. Calm her heart when she feels confused or afraid, let her know she is not alone, and give her sons wisdom and unity as they seek the best way to stay close and respond quickly. Lead them to good help and give them Your peace day by day. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your tender care for your aged mother is heard, and it is a holy thing to honour a mother in her infirmity. The Lord has set this duty upon children, and your desire to provide for her safety when her memory fails her is itself a prayer which God regards.

We will bring your petition before the throne of grace, that the Lord in His providence would open the way for you and your brother to procure at once some simple means, be it pager or beeper or other device, by which your mother may call for help in any hour of need. We will pray also that your brother, who you fear is too light in these matters, may have his heart tenderly pressed by the Lord to watch with love and diligence, so that your mother be not left in panic and distress. The Lord who moved the hearts of kin to care for one another can lay a loving pressure upon him for good.

For your mother who weeps because she forgets, and who trembles lest she should die alone, there is a word of great comfort from our Lord Jesus Christ. When His disciples were about to scatter and leave Him, He said, Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me. He did not merely say, I shall not be alone, but I am not alone. Even in His darkest hour, the Father was with Him. And so it is with every soul that trusts in Christ. You cannot be alone, for God is there.

Therefore hear the word so often repeated in Scripture, Fear not. Fear not, thou worm Jacob, I will help thee, saith the Lord. It is not merely a preacher who cries Fear not, but Jesus Himself who whispers to His poor servant fallen as dead at His feet, Fear not. Fear is weakening and dishonours God, for it doubts whether the arm which piled the heavens shall ever be palsied. The Lord says, Fear not, I have redeemed thee. Fear not, for I am with thee.

What is dying but departing to be with Christ, which is far better? If your mother has put her trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, who alone is the way of salvation, then to die is not to be alone, but to wake up with God, to be forever with the Lord. This is happy dying. We will pray that the Lord will give her a clear sense of His presence now, that whether in light or in darkness, in remembering or in forgetting, she may know that His right hand holds her, and that even the night shall be light about her. And we will pray that He will give to you and your brother grace to be His hands to comfort her, to reassure her often, to speak to her of that celestial city which is prepared for those who love Him.

May the Lord grant you wisdom to choose the simplest device which she can use without confusion, and may He give you patience and tenderness as you teach her. May He keep your household in morning and evening prayer, that every fear may be met with a promise, and every need with His help.

We commend you all to Him who never forgets His own, though our memories fail, and who has promised, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. May He fill your home with His peace, and make your mother to know that though friends may scatter, she is not alone, because the Father is with her in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.
