God, I am coming to the throne of grace like I usually do - because You told me to come continually to You with my prayers if I truly want You to fulfill them. God, I am asking for a blessing as a successful artist. This congregation, and other congregations have heard my voice and have prayed for me, but Lord I know it is up to You and up to my own willingness to be a better person in order that they should ever be fulfilled.
God, - no one I know says to me that I lack the capacity to accomplish my dreams, - but with the arts, with music, - and with music about the Holy Ghost, music about the Spirit of truth and of God, - it takes something special from the throne of grace, the seat of our Lord Jesus Christ, to make dreams like mine come true.
Lord, - to be honest I know I am not a deserving man of the blessings I have. I know they are mercies on loan to me from You. I only ask that You allow me to know, and fulfill a godly purpose on earth while I am alive, so that when I come before You I have something to show for my life on earth, something aside from mistakes, and wasted efforts.
God - my soul and heart are dying. My love is growing very cold - and I know that sounds extreme - but all of my heart is in You - and it is in music, which I feel You blessed me with since I was a boy. So much of me is invested in music, that as I grow older, and as I see no success for what feels like mountains of effort, - long long hours of work and dedication -, - I am like that ox that is not fed over the field he is plowing. Indeed, Lord Jesus, this judgement is a good one, and I won't deny You its goodness in this congregation - it is righteous and good for You to withhold success from me - because I am a sinner, and because I have made many many mistakes during my lifetime.
I only ask for forgiveness, and for a new day. God, You are beautiful and wonderful like the dawn. When Your light is in my life, it feels like sunshine on my face, and warmth and goodness in my whole being. I need a purpose, God. Even if that purpose isn't music, I still need some purpose - my heart, my soul - my whole love of everything - needs a reason to be and to be strong. I feel like a hired man in the labor of the Lord who doesn't have a job to do, or a man who lost someone very dear to him.
My prayer is not as needy as many who come here, Lord Jesus, and I ask that You bless those who pray for me, because I know that they have come to You with weightier concerns than this one. I just ask that You fulfill this prayer, knowing full well that You can, - and I thank You for the days to come when I see the light shine on a purpose in my life. Let me give You praise now, and a million times over in that day, Lord. I thank You now for that day, because from behind a veil through which I cannot perceive anything You have heard my wants and needs, You've seen everything I need and heard my voice in a way I cannot hear myself, and You've fulfilled my prayer in a way I could not foresee.
God, this is Your servant Michael speaking - a sinner, but a man who loves You with his whole heart. God, don't let my heart and soul die on account of my sins, and don't let a good dream of the labor of the Lord pass from me without fulfillment, when my soul could find redemption and purpose in You.
God, today I am also praying for my friend S., as well as my friend E, and J. S needs help in her financial life as a business owner. - The business she owns takes a hit usually around this time of year because of the holidays, and she has told me she is struggling. Lord Jesus, this woman has helped me in times of extreme danger both spiritually, emotionally, and every way I can think of - and all of this without at first knowing all that much about me. Over the course of a year or more, we have become good friends, and more than that - I consider her like a mom to me. Jesus, bless her tremendously with prosperity - because she was kind to someone she did not know out of the goodness of her heart, - because she was hospitable to the stranger in her gates. Lord, protect her finances, and keep away anything that might cause her harm.
My friend E needs help in his love-life Lord. He is lonely, - and he is a good friend, and seems like a good person to me - though I am not his judge. He is meek, and very kind and welcoming to many, but I know he gets lonely, - and I pray that You provide for him companionship, friendship, and I pray one day You introduce him to his wife - even that one he will marry, and that You forgive his sins today, and every day, and call him to You in the name of God Almighty.
I am also praying for J. - J has dreams a lot like mine, and this person is dear to my heart. God, please guide him to success in everything he pursues, because he has taken concern for animals, and for all kinds of people that lack a strong voice of their own. God, bless him in all the ways that he seeks, and favor him, because he is new to the faith, and needs to hear Your voice in his life, to know that You are listening, and to know that You are moving in his life. Amen in Jesus Christ the eternal kings name.
