Dear Prayer Warriors

A few years ago, I invested some money in the stock market without knowing the consequences. I got addicted to it and got loans and bought more shares. I have been honest here; I thought by investing in stocks I would get a better house and a better car, and my living standards would get better. I only wanted something better than what I had at the moment. Then all of a sudden, the stock market in Sri Lanka crashed about 2 1/2 years ago. So I was in a major fix. Then I realized that doing this was like gambling, and to be honest, God punished me because I invested in stock and didn't rely on His blessings. I have been majorly affected by this and I promised God that I will not invest in any more stock. So now my situation is I still have the stocks, so please stand in prayer with me that these stocks will go up to a reasonable amount so that I can then get over the debts my husband and I have. This is sort of the only asset we have. Once I sell these stocks, I no longer have anything to do with the stock market. I had to learn a lesson the hard way. Please uphold me in prayer during these next few weeks because by the end of March 2014, I hope to sell all these shares and be relieved from my financial burdens.

I don't think that investing in the stock market is wrong, it is just that you became addicted, and took out loans to do so. Moderation, balance, etc.

I have been in a similar predicament. I invested in Gold and Silver. And can stand to lose ### at this point. It was a hedge or security for me in case the economy collapsed. But when I read the word Gold and Silver were considered idols. I felt convicted many times on it, and have been hoping like you for Gold and Silver to rise so I could just liquidate and rely on God solely to supply all my needs. No more risks.=)
