Opportunity to Move Closer to My Oldest Son and his Wife

Father God, I come before your throne of Grace humbly asking in Jesus mighty, precious, and Holy name, for a way to be made for me and my youngest son to move to the city and the complex that my oldest son and his wife live in. Father, my oldest son really wants us to move out there, and, for a few years now, I have been wanting to leave this city that I have lived in for over 40 years to relocate to a city that will bring me joy and peace. I feel this move burning like a fire in me. Father God, as you know there are some obstacles that are in the way of this move and in Jesus mighty name I ask your help to remove them. First, my youngest son and I share a rental house with my daughter, son-in-law and grandkids. Father, I ask in Jesus name that you are right now preparing a home for them to move to in November, and that they will not be upset with my plan to move. Second, Father God, in Jesus name, I ask that my youngest son, his labrador retriever and I will be approved to move in November into the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom south facing condo with balcony in my oldest son's complex. I pray that my income, credit score, past bankruptcy and consumer proposal and anything else about me will not be obstacles for being approved for this condo. I ask in Jesus name for an open door in order to move and for a financial blessing/breakthrough for everything I stand in need of for approval into this condo. I also ask in Jesus name to be hired into a fulltime line at the hospital in the city I am asking to move to, and to be approved to remain in the casual pool at the hospital I currently work at. Father God, I am asking for a yes, for an open dorr and for a;; hindrances and obstacles to be removed; however, Father God, if your answer is no, or not yet, I want you to know that I trust You, I trust Your timing, I trust Your Will for me and for my family. Thank you Father God for always providing, always protecting, and for never leaving me or my family. I ask all these things in Jesus might and Holy name, Amen.

We hear your heartfelt cry for unity with your family and the peace that comes from being closer to your oldest son and his wife. Your desire to move is not just about changing locations but about seeking joy, peace, and the blessing of being near loved ones. We stand with you in prayer, lifting this request before our Heavenly Father, trusting in His perfect will and timing.

First, we want to affirm your trust in God’s sovereignty. You beautifully expressed that even if the answer is "no" or "not yet," you still place your faith in Him. This is the heart of a believer who understands that God’s plans are always for our good, even when they don’t align with our immediate desires. "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, 'thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.'" (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB). We pray that this truth anchors your heart as you wait on the Lord.

We also lift up the practical obstacles you mentioned. The shared living situation with your daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren is a delicate matter. We pray that God would indeed prepare a home for them, as you asked, and that this transition would be smooth and without strife. May He soften their hearts to understand your desire to move and bless them with a place that meets all their needs. "Unless Yahweh builds the house, they who build it labor in vain." (Psalm 127:1 WEB). We trust that God is already at work in their lives, paving the way for this change.

Regarding the approval for the condo, we declare that no obstacle, whether financial, credit-related, or otherwise, will stand in the way of God’s provision. You mentioned your past bankruptcy and consumer proposal, but we serve a God who makes all things new. "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB). We pray that the property managers and decision-makers would see your application through the lens of God’s favor, not just worldly standards. May He open doors that no man can shut and provide the financial breakthrough you need for this move. "Ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you." (Matthew 7:7 WEB).

For your employment, we pray for favor in securing a full-time position at the hospital in the new city while maintaining your casual pool status at your current workplace. May God’s hand guide the hiring managers to see your value and grant you this opportunity. "Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this." (Psalm 37:5 WEB). We believe that God is already working behind the scenes to align these details according to His will.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith and trust in Your perfect plan. We lift up this dear sister and her family, asking that You would make a way for her to move closer to her oldest son and his wife. Lord, we know that You delight in unity and peace among families, and we ask that You would remove every obstacle standing in the way of this move. Prepare a home for her daughter’s family, soften their hearts to understand this transition, and grant them peace in the process.

Father, we declare that no financial or credit-related barrier will hinder Your provision. You are the God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills, and we trust that You will supply every need according to Your riches in glory. Open the door for this condo, and let Your favor rest upon her application. Provide the financial breakthrough she needs, and let every detail fall into place for approval.

Lord, we also pray for her employment. Grant her favor with the hiring managers at the hospital in the new city, and confirm this position for her. Let her continue to be a blessing in her current workplace as well, maintaining her casual pool status. Align every step of this journey with Your will, and let her walk in the peace that comes from trusting You completely.

Father, if this move is not Your will, we ask that You would make that clear to her. Give her the strength to accept Your timing and the wisdom to see Your hand in every circumstance. Thank You for always providing, protecting, and never leaving her or her family. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking God’s will in this matter, trusting that He is working all things together for your good. Keep your heart open to His leading, and remember that His timing is always perfect. If there are any steps you can take practically, such as applying for the condo, following up on job opportunities, or having conversations with your family, do so with faith, knowing that God is guiding your path.

Lastly, we want to remind you that God’s promises are yes and amen in Christ Jesus. "For all the promises of God in him are Yes, and in him Amen, to the glory of God through us." (2 Corinthians 1:20 WEB). Stand firm in this truth, and let it fill you with hope as you wait on the Lord.

It’s clear how deeply you long for this move, that fire you describe is not something we take lightly. We hear you wanting to honor your oldest son’s desire to have you close, and yet also careful about how this affects your daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. That tenderness toward everyone involved says a lot about your heart.

One thing that may help is to gently, honestly talk with your daughter and son-in-law soon, sharing your plan the way you’ve shared it here, not as an ultimatum, but as something you’ve been praying about and hoping for, while also caring about their next steps. Bringing it into the open, with real love, can do a lot to ease tensions and help them feel considered, not abandoned. You can assure them you’ll still be part of each other’s lives, just in a new arrangement that also blesses your relationship with your oldest son.

We also notice how beautifully you’ve held this all, with strong desire yet deep trust in God’s will and timing. That’s not easy. We’re praying with you that the obstacles clear: that a good home opens up for your daughter’s family, that your condo application is met with favor, and that the right job doors swing wide. But we also thank Him that you’re held secure even while you wait.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this mother and her family to You. You see the fire in her heart, the barriers ahead, and her honest surrender to Your way. Please prepare a peaceful path for her daughter’s household, and soften every heart in that conversation. Make a way for the condo approval, let credit, income, and history not stand in the way of the yes You have for them. Provide the job she needs and the financial breakthrough required. Above all, guard their relationships and fill each step with Your peace. In Your mighty name, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The prayer you have poured out is marked by a sweet mixture of earnest desire and childlike submission, and that is as it should be. You ask for an open door, yet you are willing to wait if the door remains shut. This is the very posture of faith, for faith does not dictate to God, but takes hold of His promises and rests in His wisdom.

What a mercy that His benefits are not meted out according to our credit scores, nor do they hinge upon the frailty of our past. His giving springs from His own heart, a heart that is infinite in grace and unchanging in affection. He daily loads us with benefits, not a meager pittance, but a full burden of goodness. The blessing you need, whether it is that south-facing condo or a quiet refusal that turns your feet another way, will come fresh from His storehouse, exactly suited to the moment. The same God who kept the prisoners in their cells when every door stood open can certainly open a way for you into that complex, if it pleases Him; and He can as easily overrule every earthly hindrance.

Yet remember the double blessing spoken to Abraham: “I will bless thee, and thou shalt be a blessing.” It is not first about geography, but about being made a fountain of blessing wherever Providence plants you. You long to be near your oldest son, and that is a natural and holy desire. But think well: God may bless you here with the younger son, the daughter, and the grandchildren, even while you wait. He may make you a blessing in that very house, in that very hospital pool, until the hour comes to move. Do not let the burning fire of this wish so consume you that you forget the daily manna He is already raining down. Praise Him now, while the obstacles still stand, for the load of benefits you already carry. The life of blessing for blessing must be a life of praising God even before the answer peeps through the clouds.

It may be that your fears whisper of unworthiness: “I am afraid my past bankruptcy, my credit score, will shut the door.” But listen, the work of God does not depend upon the perfection of your résumé, but upon the merits of Christ. If your trust is there, then be not afraid. The fears that haunt you are often the very marks of true faith, for only a living soul fears hypocrisy; the dead feel no such tremblings. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. Whether He says “yes” or “not yet,” He is still loading you with mercy. The approval you seek before men is nothing compared with the acceptance you have in the Beloved.

So wrestle on, but let your wrestling end in a quiet “Nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.” That is the prayer which moves the arm that moves the world. And when the answer comes, whether it be a full “yes” and the keys in your hand, or a gracious “no” and a better portion, be resolved that you will be a blessing. Make that hospital ward ring with the silent music of a consecrated life; make that rental house a palace of praise. For this is the heritage of the Lord’s people: saved, and therefore a blessing.

This request burns with earnest longing, and I see that you have ended it by placing all into the hands of God, trusting His timing and His will. That is good. It is the very posture of the faithful, for the Lord gives and the Lord takes away, and blessed be His name whether He opens a door or keeps it shut. But examine this fire that burns within you for the move. Is it a flame kindled by the love of God, or has a desire for ease and earthly joy taken hold of your heart? The saints did not seek a city of peace on earth, but looked forward to the city whose builder and maker is God. Consider Job: he lost children, health, and goods, yet he rent not his garment in despair but worshiped, saying, "The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away." He stored his treasure in heaven, where neither rust nor moth corrupts and where thieves do not break through. If you transfer your affections there, no approval for a south-facing condo, no credit score, no bankruptcy can shake the soul that leans upon Christ.

The obstacles you name are real: the shared house, the income, the past failures in finance, the dog, the hiring. Yet many trials are sent to prove us and to make manifest whether we love the Giver more than the gift. Bodily pain, loss of goods, even the wreck of earthly plans, these things are not always punishments but often the medicines of the Physician. He entrusts the Gospel to those who are approved, not by men’s credit checks, but by a heart tested and found free from worldly entanglements. So I ask you: if He grants the move, will you receive it as from His hand, to use for hospitality, for the nurture of your sons, for work honestly done in the hospital? And if He withholds it for a season, or forever, will you still say with Job, “The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord”? That is the true open door: the door of the heart that swings wide in trust.

Do not imagine that a specific apartment complex holds the key to your peace. You speak of a city that will bring you joy and peace, but the soul’s peace is Christ Himself, who dwells in us by the Spirit wherever we live. Seek first that kingdom, and all else, the two-bedroom condo, the full-time line, the casual pool, will be arranged by a Father who knows your needs before you ask. Press on in prayer, but let your asking be seasoned with "nevertheless, not my will, but Yours be done." If you keep that firmly in mind, you will stand with Abraham and Job as one approved, whether you move in November or remain where you are. The Lord heals the broken-hearted and binds up their wounds; He will not forsake you or your youngest son. So go forward, but let your treasure be above, and let no earthly desire burn with a heat that rivals your love for God.
