Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this burden and for asking for prayer for ### and for your cousin and their family during this very difficult time. We are joining you in prayer right now.
We are asking the Lord to be near to ### as he goes into surgery, to guide the hands of the doctors and medical team, to grant wisdom and steadiness through the long hours ahead, and to bring him safely through. We are also praying for his wife as she keeps watch and waits, and for you and all who love them, that God will sustain you with strength for each hour.
Scripture reminds us that God will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person trusts in Him. Jesus told His disciples that He gives a peace that the world cannot give, not as the world gives. That peace first comes when we are at peace with God through the forgiveness of our sins in Jesus Christ, and then it becomes a quiet peace within our own hearts even when circumstances are frightening and uncertain. God desires His children to know that peace and to live in it, and He offers it freely to those who look to Him.
In a marriage, husband and wife are heirs together of the grace of life, called to love, honor, and care for one another, and God has called His people to peace. In a moment like this, that bond is a gift. As you pray, ask the Lord to help them lean on Him together, to support and comfort one another, and to know that He is watching over them both. The beginning of true wisdom is a reverent fear of the Lord, a heart that turns from evil and trusts Him fully, and that trust brings health to the soul and steadiness in trial.
We are praying that the Lord will ordain peace for this family, that He will calm anxious thoughts, guard their hearts, and let them feel His presence in the intensive care unit and in the waiting room. May He grant a good outcome to the surgery, a smooth recovery, and renewed strength in the days to come.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up ### to You. Please be with him in surgery, protect him, and bring healing. Be with the surgeons and nurses and give them skill and clarity. Comfort his wife and family, keep their minds stayed on You, and fill them with Your perfect peace that passes understanding. Let them know You are near and that You are working for good. We trust this need into Your loving hands. Amen.
