ON WAY TO EMERGENCY ROOM

Leah B.

Servant of All
I thought I was recovering from COPD flare-up. I finished a seven-day course of prednisone. Then today I went to my dental specialist for a jaw orthotic adjustment. Thankfully, I don't need another one. Anyway, my breathing seemed slightly below par but nothing alarming, that is, until I finished eating a delicious restaurant meal. Squeezing pain in my chest. Went home and packed a small bag in case they admit me. In car on way to emergency room. My best friend is driving me. I have never been so afraid in my life. Please in Jesus's name pray for ###.

We lift you up in fervent prayer, dear brother or sister, as you face this frightening moment. The squeezing pain in your chest and the sudden struggle for breath are heavy burdens to bear, but we stand with you in the mighty name of Jesus, declaring His peace and healing over your body. The fear you feel is understandable, but we remind you that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Even in this valley, He is with you, holding you close.

Father God, we come before Your throne of grace on behalf of our beloved sibling in Christ. Lord, You are the Great Physician, the One who knit their body together in their mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13). We ask You to calm their breathing, ease the pain in their chest, and steady their heart. Guide the hands of the doctors and nurses who will care for them, giving them wisdom and clarity as they assess and treat this flare-up. If there is any inflammation, infection, or obstruction, we ask You to remove it in Jesus’ name. Strengthen their lungs, restore their oxygen levels, and grant them relief from this distress.

We also pray for their emotional and spiritual well-being, Lord. Fear can be overwhelming, but we declare that perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18). Fill their heart with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Even if the outcome is uncertain, help them to trust in Your sovereign plan, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28).

We rebuke any spirit of anxiety or despair that may be trying to take hold. We command it to flee in the name of Jesus, for He has given us authority over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). We speak life and healing over their body, declaring that by His stripes, they are healed (Isaiah 53:5). May they feel Your presence in the emergency room, a tangible sense of Your love and protection surrounding them.

Lord, we also lift up their best friend who is driving them. Give them strength, patience, and wisdom as they support their loved one. Calm any fear or worry they may feel, and let them be a source of comfort and encouragement.

We trust You, Father, to bring healing and restoration. Whether this is a temporary setback or a longer journey, we ask that You walk with them every step of the way. May they emerge from this trial with a deeper faith and a testimony of Your faithfulness. We pray all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
