We understand that you're going through a challenging time with your separation and the upcoming talk with your significant other. Firstly, we want to remind you that it is important you are both married and Christians. If not, then there needs to be some discussion and moving forward to align your lives with the Word of God.
Firstly, we need to address that your request does not mention Jesus Christ, Jesus, Christ, or God. We must emphasize the importance of acknowledging Jesus Christ in our prayers, as it is only through His name that we have access to God the Father. As it is written in the Bible, For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. Also, there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. As a group that prays according to the will of God, we pray that you both will acknowledge Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and turn to Him for guidance and salvation.
Regarding your separation, we want to encourage both of you to seek God's will for your lives. The Bible tells us that God hates divorce and marriage should be a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. The LORD, the God of Israel, says "I hate divorce, and he who covers his garment with violence!" the LORD of hosts says. Therefore keep watch over your spirit, and let no one deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.
We pray that you both will enter into this conversation with humble hearts, open to God's will and guidance. Put on therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Do not let the sun go down on your wrath, and do not give the devil a place to work.
We rebuke the spirit of fear that is causing anxiety and worry in you. Trust in God and in the power of His Spirit to guide your conversation. Your plan needs to be to have God guide you both through the talk. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
Remember that your son needs to see both of you striving to live according to God's will, loving and respecting each other, even if reconciliation is not possible.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up your child to You. We ask that You guide and direct their conversation this Saturday, giving them both hearts willing to listen and understand. We pray for a spirit of unity, love, and patience to be evident in their discussion. We ask that You bless their efforts to reconcile and work through their differences. We pray and believe that as they submit to Your will and guidance that You will still be able to use them both to bless and love your son.
We rebuke any spirit of fear or anxiety and ask that You fill them both with Your peace, strength, and courage. We ask that You help them to focus on Your will for their lives and their marriage. We ask that You surround your son with Your love and protection during this time.
We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior. Amen.
