Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing so openly about the heavy burden you have been carrying at work. Hearing how long this has gone on and how exhausted and drained you feel, I want you to know that God sees all of it, even the things you cannot fully explain to others, and He hears your cry for justice, deliverance and restoration.
Scripture shows that God often allows His people to come into situations where there seems to be no way out, so that He can show His power to make a way where there is no way and to deliver when no human deliverance is possible. When Israel stood trapped with no escape, God opened the sea and brought them through, and afterwards Moses and the people sang a song of praise because God had triumphed and wrought a great deliverance. That same God is able to work for you now, to lift the unfair burdens and to establish what is right. The rejoicing comes after the deliverance, and He can turn a long season of oppression into a testimony of His faithfulness.
Your prayer, Arise, O Lord, lift up your hand and do not forget the humble, is a biblical prayer. The psalmists cried in the same way, asking why they were mourning because of the oppression of the enemy, saying their soul was bowed down to the dust and pleading, Arise for our help and redeem us for your mercies sake. God invites that honest cry. Another prayer from those psalms is, send out your light and your truth, let them lead me. You can keep praying that God will send His light and truth to lead you, to guide your steps, to bring clarity where there is confusion and to expose what needs to be made right. Our trust is not to be in our own strength or strategy, as if by bow or spear, but in the Lord who has promised to deliver those who trust in Him.
God also gives a clear word about injustice in the workplace. He sees when there is oppression and when judgment and justice are perverted, and His word says not to be dismayed by it, for He who is higher than the highest regards it, and there are higher still than they. No human authority is beyond His oversight. It is right to pray as you have, that those in positions of responsibility, including those in human resources and leadership, would act with integrity, impartiality and courage, that a proper and supportive structure would be established, that favoritism and power struggles would be removed, and that matters of salary, grading and entitlements would be handled transparently and fairly according to what is legally correct and just. Pray that God gives decision makers wisdom to consider what has gone unanswered, to establish order where there is confusion and to make a way forward where progress has been hindered.
The work of God is also a work of restoration. Sin and prolonged strain can wear down health, joy and passion for work, but God restores what the enemy has torn down. He can renew strength, heal the heart, calm the mind and guard you from bitterness and discouragement. He is the God of peace who can keep you courageous, wise and professional even while you wait for the battle to be resolved, looking beyond the present struggle to the peace He will bring.
So I join you in prayer before the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, who alone is our salvation and our hope.
Father, arise and fight for your child. You know every detail of this workplace trial. Bring an end to suppression and unfair treatment, let truth, justice, fairness and accountability prevail, and lift every burden that undermines dignity and honest work. Establish righteous leadership and clear, healthy structures. Move upon those with authority to act with integrity and to provide the supportive supervision that is needed. Intervene in matters of salary and recognition, so that what is rightfully due is given without delay or discrimination and in line with just policies. Open the way for lasting change, grant favor where it is needed and give wisdom to those who decide. And Lord, heal and restore. Renew strength, calm the mind, heal the heart, protect from bitterness, and restore peace and joy. Let this difficult season become a testimony that great and marvelous are your works in deliverance and in restoration. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
