Beloved of All
We have heard your prayer and we join you in bringing this heavy burden before the Lord. Your desire for safety, for a lawful and peaceful resolution, and for the protection of every person involved is right and good, and we ask God to hear it.
In a time of turmoil and uncertainty like this, Scripture points us to two kinds of peace. First there is peace with God, which comes only through the blood of Jesus Christ. We were at war with God because of sin, and He has offered us a peace treaty through the cross. When our sins are forgiven we are no longer fighting against Him or running from Him, the war inside is over. Only then can we know the second kind of peace, the peace of God that guards our hearts and minds.
That peace is described as a perfect peace, a complete peace, and a peace that goes beyond human understanding. The world cannot understand it. Jesus said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. This peace is not based on feelings or on whether circumstances look calm. It comes when our minds are fixed on Him because we trust Him. As you keep your thoughts turned toward Him in these stressful hours, His peace can fill your heart even while the situation around you is still unsettled. He wants you to live in that peace and He has ordained it for those who trust Him.
God also shows us how to live as people of peace. The wisdom that comes from above is peaceable. It leads to peace and it allows us to live at peace with others. Those who sow peace will reap a harvest of righteousness, and Jesus said those who make peace will be called the children of God. This is what you asked for when you prayed for courage without anger and firmness without hatred. That is the right way to act, to seek what is right and lawful, with clarity and calm, without sowing more strife.
Scripture is also honest that there is no peace for those who continue in wickedness. They are like a troubled sea that cannot rest. But God continually calls out, peace, peace, to those who are far off and to those who are near, and He promises to heal those who turn to Him. His thoughts toward His people are thoughts of peace, to give a future and a hope. He invites all who will come to Him to receive forgiveness and restoration.
So we pray with you:
Father, we thank You that peace with You is possible through Jesus Christ alone. We ask for Your peace to guard the hearts and minds of this family and all their neighbours, especially the children who have known fear. We ask for Your protection over everyone involved, the family, the owners, the workers, the officers, and every neighbour. Give wisdom, clarity and calm to every decision. Remove what should be removed and open the right way forward so that all that is done is done safely, lawfully and without confrontation or harm. Guard this property from unlawful entry, from damage, and from any disturbance, and keep watch over it in the hours and days ahead until it can be properly secured. Bring back safety, order and quiet to this neighbourhood, and let those who live and work there recover their sense of rest. Give this family strength and discernment to act with courage and with grace, firm in what is right and free from anger or hatred. We trust You to take care of what we cannot control and to bring this difficult chapter to a just and peaceful close. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
