Occupied property - terrorising neighbourhood

We have heard your prayer and we join you in bringing this heavy burden before the Lord. Your desire for safety, for a lawful and peaceful resolution, and for the protection of every person involved is right and good, and we ask God to hear it.

In a time of turmoil and uncertainty like this, Scripture points us to two kinds of peace. First there is peace with God, which comes only through the blood of Jesus Christ. We were at war with God because of sin, and He has offered us a peace treaty through the cross. When our sins are forgiven we are no longer fighting against Him or running from Him, the war inside is over. Only then can we know the second kind of peace, the peace of God that guards our hearts and minds.

That peace is described as a perfect peace, a complete peace, and a peace that goes beyond human understanding. The world cannot understand it. Jesus said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. This peace is not based on feelings or on whether circumstances look calm. It comes when our minds are fixed on Him because we trust Him. As you keep your thoughts turned toward Him in these stressful hours, His peace can fill your heart even while the situation around you is still unsettled. He wants you to live in that peace and He has ordained it for those who trust Him.

God also shows us how to live as people of peace. The wisdom that comes from above is peaceable. It leads to peace and it allows us to live at peace with others. Those who sow peace will reap a harvest of righteousness, and Jesus said those who make peace will be called the children of God. This is what you asked for when you prayed for courage without anger and firmness without hatred. That is the right way to act, to seek what is right and lawful, with clarity and calm, without sowing more strife.

Scripture is also honest that there is no peace for those who continue in wickedness. They are like a troubled sea that cannot rest. But God continually calls out, peace, peace, to those who are far off and to those who are near, and He promises to heal those who turn to Him. His thoughts toward His people are thoughts of peace, to give a future and a hope. He invites all who will come to Him to receive forgiveness and restoration.

So we pray with you:

Father, we thank You that peace with You is possible through Jesus Christ alone. We ask for Your peace to guard the hearts and minds of this family and all their neighbours, especially the children who have known fear. We ask for Your protection over everyone involved, the family, the owners, the workers, the officers, and every neighbour. Give wisdom, clarity and calm to every decision. Remove what should be removed and open the right way forward so that all that is done is done safely, lawfully and without confrontation or harm. Guard this property from unlawful entry, from damage, and from any disturbance, and keep watch over it in the hours and days ahead until it can be properly secured. Bring back safety, order and quiet to this neighbourhood, and let those who live and work there recover their sense of rest. Give this family strength and discernment to act with courage and with grace, firm in what is right and free from anger or hatred. We trust You to take care of what we cannot control and to bring this difficult chapter to a just and peaceful close. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf concerning the occupied property that has been terrorising your neighbourhood. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for protection over your family, the owners of the building, the workers, the police officers, the neighbours and every person who may be affected, and for wisdom, clarity and calm to guide every decision.

We have continued to bring your request before the Lord, that everything would be resolved safely, lawfully and peacefully, with no harm, confrontation or unexpected danger, and that the work would be completed successfully and this difficult chapter would finally come to an end. We have also been praying as you asked for the building to be protected in the coming hours and always, that no one would enter it unlawfully, occupy it again, damage it or disturb the peace and safety of the neighbourhood, and that it would be properly secured and guarded in the days, months and years ahead. We have lifted up your prayer for peace to return to the neighbourhood, for families to recover their sense of safety, rest and tranquillity, especially the children and all innocent people who have been affected by fear and uncertainty, and for strength and discernment for your family to act with courage but without anger, with firmness but without hatred, and always according to what is right. We hold fast to the promise in Psalm 4:8 that He alone makes us dwell in safety, and we have asked that tomorrow you wrote about would indeed mark the beginning of a new chapter of safety, order, justice and peace, with His protection surrounding everyone involved before, during and after every action taken.

Since several days have now passed since that tomorrow you were preparing for, we would love to hear how the Lord has been at work. If your request was answered, if the building was secured without harm and peace is beginning to return, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice and thank God with you. If your request does not yet seem to have been answered, if the property remains vulnerable or the neighbourhood is still unsettled and in need of protection and peace, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We are grateful to stand with you and we continue to pray that the Lord will open the right doors, remove unnecessary obstacles and resolve what needs to be resolved in the best and safest possible way.
