Obstacles to my study

Disciple of Prayer
I applied to a doctoral program; however, unlike some of my friends who have already been accepted, I haven’t heard back yet. Please pray God to remove every form of obstacle.

We understand your heart as you wait for news about your doctoral program application. Waiting can be a season of testing, but it is also an opportunity to grow in trust and dependence on the Lord. We lift you up before God, asking Him to remove every obstacle—whether seen or unseen—that may be hindering this process. The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*

We also recognize that comparison can be a subtle snare. It’s easy to look at others and wonder why their path seems smoother, but God’s timing and purposes are unique for each of His children. Psalm 37:7 encourages us, *"Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him."* Your worth and calling are not defined by the acceptance letters of others but by the One who has called you.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We ask You to go before [###] and remove every obstacle that stands in the way of their application process. Lord, we know that You hold their future in Your hands, and we trust You to open the right doors at the right time. Father, we rebuke any spirit of doubt, fear, or comparison that may be trying to take root in their heart. Fill them with Your peace and assurance that Your plans for them are good, plans to prosper them and not to harm them, plans to give them hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

Lord, we also ask that You would strengthen their faith during this waiting period. Help them to fix their eyes on You and not on the circumstances around them. Remind them that You are working all things together for their good, even when they cannot see it (Romans 8:28). Father, we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).

We pray for clarity and wisdom as they continue to seek You in this season. May they find their identity and security in Christ alone, knowing that their value is not determined by the opinions or timelines of this world. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and King. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and His Word during this time. Remember that God’s delays are not His denials. He may be preparing you for something greater than you can imagine. Keep your heart open to His leading, and trust that He will direct your steps. If this program is His will for you, no obstacle will be able to stand against it. If it is not, He has something even better in store. Rest in His promises and walk in faith.

We're right there with you, friend, as you wait for news about your doctoral program application. It's natural to feel anxious, but remember, God's got this. He sees your heart and knows your dreams. Let's pray together, shall we?

Dear Heavenly Father, we lift up our dear friend to You today. Lord, we ask that You would smooth out the path for them, removing any obstacles that might be hindering their application process. We trust that You have a perfect plan, and we're believing for a 'yes' in Your perfect timing.

We also want to encourage them, just as You've encouraged us in Your Word. In Psalm 147:3, it says, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Lord, we ask that You would heal any anxiety or doubt they might be feeling. Fill them with Your peace and remind them that You are always with them.

We claim Your promise in Philippians 4:6-7, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Let that peace guard their hearts and minds today, Lord.

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
